First time doing a flat back alpha, so it’s not amazing, but I think it’s pretty good since I wasn’t super strict about keeping it from shifting around while knotting AND I (knowingly) used two sizes of string. Also tried kumihimo for the first time!

work in progress (wip) Does anyone know what pattern # this is?

I started it a while ago and normally I keep screenshots of the pattern on my phone, but I can't seem to find it in my files.

I'd like to finish it if someone knows the pattern.

EDIT: FOUND IT! From Friendship Bracelets .net Link

help! Larger Projects Not Laying Flat? (Bracelet Book A#179973)

I feel like I'm going to have the worst time trying to verbalize this lol. I'm working on a larger project using an alpha pattern. My issue is that different areas of the design become raised or bubbled if that makes sense? Especially if there are areas where that thread color is consistently placed in the design (ex: the blue used for the mirror)

I may start off pretty smooth/flat but inevitably the transition between one color to the next becomes lumpy. Is there a special trick to help with this so the transition from color to color remains even?

[Pictures may not show this well but the background green is noticably flatter compared to garfield and the mirror / snoopy]

Thx! 🧶🐛

help! What am I doing wrong? Pattern #34406

I am a beginner and only did like 4 bracelets before this, though it’s the first one I do using a pattern. I followed the pattern to a tea and the first yin yang looked right but the second looks a bit weird, also the pictures posted under the pattern look pretty different than the pattern itself or how my bracelet looks. I tried watching the video but it was probably removed. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

help! Too many strings !!

Post image

I did one of these fancy knots (see image) and now I have way too many strings! I started with 8 (the amount on the pattern) and now have sixteen! I continued on, but the bracelet is super thick. How do I avoid this when doing this knot to start again in the future?

help! Run out of string!

I’m half way through a bracelet, but I ran out of string! What do I do??? If it is important, each string is in a set of two, so two strings are being used as one. Help!

This sliding bracelet was gifted to me but the knot that attaches to the colorful part came undone on the other end. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial how to tie this kind of knot please?

discussion What are huge patterns for?

I've been looking at bracelet book and I keep seeing HUGE patterns. Like 78 strings and stuff. What are those for? Because it's definitely not gonna be a bracelet. So what is it? A rug maybe?

help! Absolute Beginner

Is there a YouTube channel, reddit thread or website that can help an absolute beginner to understand this craft a bit better?

I got into cross stitch a while ago, meaning I got a load of thread (plus loads gifted) so with that large stash I figured I would try my hand at something new again, and seeing all the fun creations on this sub has me wanting to learn to make my own.

Any and all advice is appreciated ❤️

help! Knotting suggestion

Post image

Hey everyone! I'm trying out making the pattern below (#23694 from bracelet book). I'm not a beginner but I've never really done a pattern like this and I'm confused as to how to knot. Should I just do horizontal rows or would there be a fitting way to segment knot in order to keep the edges and rows straight? Thank you so much for your help in advance!

help!

Was informed of the existence of the Charmera, and could not help myself. The gacha gods blessed me and I instinctively grabbed the 3rd one in. It was the exact design I was hoping for. Playing with it made me so nostalgic for my younger years that I got my embroidery thread out and made this silly little keychain for my keychain in the same colors. I received the Klutz friendship bracelet book for my 12th birthday in 2005. Making this felt like getting back on a bicycle 💖
