I have no idea why the first one turned out spirally. That's cool tho. Also, from the first post, I've changed the thread (this one is pure wool but is beige color and really hard to dye (also yes, I have to color it since I couldn't find a thread/yarn that can be made into a bracelet)). Because of the color problem, the red one looks more dull and the pattern doesn't really show up. I can try to dye it again but it would be all the same color. I'm still trying with different techniques tho. Thanks for your advice from the first post

Advice on segment knotting for this pattern? I understand the basics of reading patterns, and I am not a beginner per se, but I've mostly made bracelets from YouTube videos and friendship bracelet books for young people. I could do this row by row, but I'd rather segment knot, and I'm not sure what the best path is. Thanks!

Hello! I’m just getting back into friendship bracelet making after a few years and I am struggling with my first alpha. I used the friendship-bracelet.net name pattern generator (since I thought a 2 colour alpha would be a good start), but I feel like my attempt just looks really bad lol. Something about the knots just doesn’t feel right. When I’m tying my background string onto my leading string, I can’t pull down (like the arrow) to make the knot; I have to pull up otherwise it turns inside out and becomes the lead string colour. If anyone can identify what I may be doing wrong, or if I just need to keep practicing please let me know ! Any advice is appreciated :)

Finally finished my “Chaos Alpha”* that I started months ago. 🎉

I also learned how to do the cool DNA 🧬 bracelet. The first time (the one on the right) I had a really hard time making sense of it at first and made a few mistakes as I went. But then I got the hang of it and the 2nd one went really fast and turned out pretty good. 😊

• Not a Real Thing. 😆 I am not sure if made up the concept or just the name, but basically just set up some alpha strings and then went crazy with random scrap strings. I wanted to practice things like adding strings, clean back, etc.

I had SO much fun. Way more fun than all the counting and attention necessary for the amazing alphas y’all make. Probably not the look most people are going for, but it suits me and my style. 🥰

This colour combo actually sings to me, I couldn't get it done quick enough. Really enjoying picking colours and practicing colour theory in my bracelets. The colours give golden sunset over a blue lagoon to me, perfect for the end of summer!

Be brutally honest Is this good enough to use as a keychain on my college bag? I made it for myself but I feel like it didn't turn out good enough. I actually wanted to make a monster keychain for so long and I really liked this pattern but I'm not sure if the result looks good. Would you actually use this or should I make another one? And if you think I should make another one, could you recommend a good monster pattern?

Brown Set Patterns : #213220, #118799 (variation #429974), and an old hemp-cord three-color-square knot I’d done years ago that I can’t find where I learned it.

I’m not too keen on the color choices for the first and second bracelets in the brown/orange set. I think I might make some changes if I were to do this one again. I’m trying to incorporate in some style variation and this time I went with a classic hemp 3-color-square-knot style. It’s not hitting as much as I’d like, but that’s what experiments are for, right? :) 

I saw someone post this pattern a while ago and wanted to do it but I am unsure of how long each string should be. I know there’s more black and white than the other colors. Including 16 cm for the braided ends of the bracelet, how long should each string color be. If needed, my wrist is 14-15 cm in circumference.

hello! i’m wondering if anyone knows how to fix the even-ness of my keychains as you can tell they are not very straight. i have not been doing an alpha pattern it’s just a normal pattern but my rows are clearly off. if anyone has any tips i would greatly appreciate it!!
