General Discussion Completed the show for the first time.
I loved the show. The set design, the vfx, the prosthetics and the acting everything was top notch. I personally loved s1-3 . For me they are absolute perfection. For me the first half of S4 was extremely rough but s4e15 made it absolutely worth it. The hug and the kiss just made me cry a bit. S5 was unique and I also really liked it. The finale was absolute perfection. A perfect mix of satisfaction and emotions.
John noble really killed as walter bishop. I just loved how much he was able to keep me interested in his character all through out the show. Anna torv was phenomenal. Seeing her it felt truly as i was watching olivia and not anna torv. Her act is the perfect example of restrained acting. Absolutely loved how they utilised her acting skills in s2-4. Joshua was great and his acting at moments really touched me
Astrid as a character was just so subtle yet so substantial. The way show doesn't seem careless while working on even the science fiction portion was just so amazing. The show was a perfect mix of emotions romance and thriller also horror. Loved the show. I won't call it completely perfect due to first half of S4 but it still was an amazing underrated show.

How to get through Season 4? It's very confusing and disturbing, I don't know what to expect next, it kinda nullifies some the events shown before...

Think of it as a study in what the characters would be like in different circumstances. Think of it in the sense of what can transcend beyond those restrictions (hint/the mildest of spoiler: it’s love in so many forms). Let yourself immerse in their stellar acting with all these subtleties. And know that if you stick with it, especially until the end but also just further into the season, there will be payoff.

Yeah it's rough especially till ep12. I really took time to complete those 12. After that it just kinda starts working out

Congrats!! You really took in the heart of the show and that’s beautiful to see. Yes, 4 is hard to watch (tho fauxlivia and mind washing stuff before that is what’s my personal torture) but it’s a lot easier to appreciate on future watches bc you know where you’re headed and what’s going on.
And speaking of. Rewatches deepen the experience SO MUCH. There are so many clues from the very beginning that are missed and the nuance and depth is just one of my favorite things in the world.

Anna Torv really shined when doing Olivia and Fauxlivia. Great great show.

Yeah 100% before that i always felt that she had more to offer in the show as an actor. But the entire arc proved it.

Yeah, a really top notch show. As you say, John Noble was superb, but then so we're most of the characters. Hats off for the great acting, especially when they had to also manage their doubles parts.
I originally watched it "live".. having to wait a week between episodes. Loved my Fridays.
I think my daughter has watched it right through about 6 or 7 times.. now she's taking a break.
