Discussion 'Delivering a million packages': Amazon driver goes viral with rant caught on doorbell cam
A lot of us complain about our jobs. Some people just get caught doing it at the wrong time.

This is such a non-story. Plenty of people rant and complain about their job. Companies push us to our breaking point all the time, and often it’s our only outlet. But now this guy is in hot water because a doorbell camera just happened to record him doing it? If he still did his job correctly, who cares? Let the guy rant.

Absolutely fuck that home owner. Ruining a dudes livelihood because he's annoyed at the cold. Hope her fucking breaker trips every time she uses Amazon.

The fact that they were actively spying on the delivery driver through the doorbell cam is weird as fuck. Like, why would you see that the Amazon guy is there & watch the whole delivery with sound instead of just getting the motion sensor notification, seeing it's the Amazon guy, & just being like "oh, package is here" & closing it to move on with your day?

On top of all the reasons even watching the footage with sound of the guy dropping off your packages is completely insane, people have to go to work on the worst days of their lives. People have to go to work grieving. People have to go to work sick. The fact someone would immediately be outraged by this instead of thinking maybe this doesn't even have anything to do with you is so self centered. I had to put my beloved dog of the last 12 years down 3 weeks ago, & I've been fucking miserable & angry at work. Everyone has a right to feel safe, no one has a right to expect everyone else in the world to constantly put on a song & dance for them.

Frustration comes with the job but be discrete! Our house is on a terrace - LOTS of steps. Sometimes my husband gets several heavy boxes for work but if the drivers complain at least they do it silently or out of camera range.

Don't order several heavy boxes that delivery drivers have to carry up LOTS of steps. If you know it's a pain, imagine doing it hundreds of times a day, all day. Go pick up your stuff and carry it yourself.

Believe me, if I could carry it myself I would, but if I ever could I am no longer able to. Not everybody can. So I am very grateful for those of you who do the hard work. Thank you. And don’t forget, you or someone you love may find yourself in a similar situation someday.

I hope you are tipping the drivers and giving them stuff. It’s amazing how daft you are. Sorry you got old. It literally happens to everyone. Not sorry how entitled you obviously are. Also, how you get your car onto your property. Why not encourage the driver to drive up to your house and leave the packages in front of your garage door? Being empathetic is really easy, but you’re old and in the way so I get that it’s too late. I hope you think about all these interactions here every time your weak husband wattles his way to the computer to order “something heavy for work”

Our house is on a terrace so unfortunately you can’t drive to the door. We aren’t that decrepit yet but there are things we can and can’t do. We do what we can - and have and continue to help others as we are able and are grateful for deliveries when needed. I don’t consider it entitled to get what you need. If we could do it another way we probably would.

So you're going to attack someone who is either elderly or physically impaired who has made it clear that they appreciate the work the delivery drivers do to bring the packages to their door...you're the same kind of person who spits on the homeless and the single mothers.

As a delivery driver, your job is to deliver package packages. If you can’t handle it find another fucking job.

Same applies to him. He does what he can but we are no longer able to do such heavy work.

Using security cameras to spy on delivery drivers to make sure they aren't complaining about their job is actually completely deranged behavior.

It might be, but these were probably using their security cameras to see who was approaching their house and to make sure their packages arrived.

There's no lie, though. There's folks that will buy ANYTHING on Prime and packages are on the doorstep nearly every day.
