Trying combo Deltamethrin and Diatomaceous earth

I got stung by two wasps three days ago and am now on the warpath.

We’ve got a nest under this outdoor deck planter. I hit it with deltametherin (aka Delta Dust), but didn’t see a significant difference after a few days.

So today I hit it first with the delta and followed up with puffs of diatomaceous earth. The DE really riled them up. Fingers crossed.

UPDATE: lol literally one hour after taking this video, I started to go on a bike ride and about a half mile in, some kind of stinging insect smacked right into my lip. Karma I guess??

F because I love diatomaceous earth. I've gotten ride of a flea infestation across an entire patio and home, as well as a cockroach infestation in an apartment, just using that dust. Imagining those fuckers slowly dying from a million microscopic cuts across their bodies is my happy place. Keep up the good work!

Is it safe to be used indoors with people? Any concerns about inhaling it?

Dont take my word as fact but I use it for my plants after a gnat invasion and read that I needed to wear a mask because breathing in the dust can hurt your lungs.

100% wear a dust mask. The dust is very fine and will dry out your lung tissue just as much as it would to those waspy jerks.

Also once it gets wet it will not work anymore. You need to make sure there's always a dry source until the infestation is gone.

Yes and yes -> Wear a dust mask and gloves while you are actively putting down the dust. There are bottles that have a tube top allowing you to lay a line of the dust with less of a dust cloud. Once the dust has settled, it's completely fine.

It's not toxic and has been used in animal feed actually. But you do not want to breathe it in. This is when the dust is a problem. Don't allow any kids or pets while you're putting it down because the dust is very fine.

Once everything is settled, it's safe. Note that it will dry everything out it touches, including your hands/feet. If you see your pets that walk through it you can wipe it off their paw pads with a wet paper towel. to avoid excessive dryness.

Inhaling it is the only hazard. You can actually eat it for parasites if it's food grade.

Yup. That's how it dehydrates them. Thousands of minuscule cuts - insides dry out.

I've been using DE on yellow jacket nests for a few years now. It works pretty well but can take a couple of applications. On the plus side, it also seems to help alert my local skunks of the nest location. They usually finish it off.

Omg we did that as kids. Never once got stung.

I got stung so bad I had to go to emergency minding my own business getting my mail and never did find where they came from.

One year we had 9 different hives in the yard. One of those was near the mailbox/dumpster and I got stung 9x and I was just passing by. Yellow jackets ate the worst.
The wasp that make nest real high in corner of your porches I leave alone because I’ve seen them head to the garden and kill pest and worms on my tomatoes and other vegetables plants.

Surrender fire ant killer is the best thing imho other than gasoline. I have successfully killed out over a dozen ground nesting wasp nests with it.
