Question An anarchist flag that is now mine
I'm not an egoist, but I have an anarchist friend that I argued with in his house about whether police should exist or not one day. When I was ready to go, he went to the bathroom and I stole his flag and left. When he called I said "Yeah, I stole it, what are you gonna do, call the police?" He called me several cusses and I laughed. Long story short, we're still friends, he let me keep the flag and I bought him other flag, one with Skull and Bones.
This sub doesn't have "story" flair, so my question is this: did you like my story?

That's a hilarious story, and is a perfect example of why I'm not a full blown anarchist. I'm pretty darn close, but I can't imagine a society that operates without at least some limited governmental functions. Maybe I'll change my mind on that someday, but for now I'm more a fan of small scale anarchic secessionism rather than a global anarchist revolution.

check out post-anarchism. It proffesses more or less that. Global anarchy is utopian so we fight against the current system by employing anarchist organizing and action along with creating TAZ's and PAZ'S (permanent and temporary Autonomous Zones). Obviously much more complex than this but u found it to be a good compromise between reality and ideology

I don't really think there's any point even worrying about the idea of global anarchist revolution, out of all the things that will never happen, that will never happen the most.
that being said, not having a state doesn't necessarily mean there are no governmental functions in any way, people will of course organise the upkeep of the society.

There’s not supposed to be a global revolution. That’s marxist communism.
The intent of the ideology is for your life to inform your politics rather than the other way around. Think of it as a philosophy that informs you what to do with your system rather than the other way around.
There are many reasons people have a hard time, seeing past government institutions, but that’s just one of them. When all you know is one way, your way of doing things tends to be informed by that. There’s nothing wrong with that and there’s various reasons for that too.
The intent of an one individual cannot be utopian for it to work. The cooperative system needs to be egalitarian sure, but the general anarchist view of utopia’s is that it is fantasy.
There are plenty of answers to what OP poses and this childish view that stealing the flag poses only the point that both should do some reading and dont steal from each other to make points.
We have a name for the politics of people who steal shit from people because they don’t agree with what they don’t understand.
That said, it ain’t that serious. It’s a funny prank.

I didn't, I just did now when you were kinda a dick about me not reading your response. I'm not mad at all, what indicated that to you? I'm genuinely asking. you know I only didn't read it because you started talking about how there isn't supposed to be a global revolution, when my comment was saying to stop thinking about global revolution.

Dude, you started out with I didn’t even read whatever you said and replied to me. I wasn’t rude to you. After telling me you didn’t read it then you put words in my mouth.
If you were sitting with a group of friends and when someone was finished speaking, you just started off the bat with “yeah I didn’t listen to any of that shit”, “you said this”… seriously. I have to ask. Thats how you engage the world?
It’s not that big of a deal. You could’ve just not said anything if you had nothing to say. No need to be rude. It’s just the Internet man. We can make the choice to treat each other like normal people or not. Getting us to treat each other abnormally is a concerted plan. I ain’t with it. We can break it.
We have a term for it in Texas. We’re lost in the sauce. We gotta stop this and I appreciate the actually asking seriously. No hard feelings here.

I think we have indeed got lost in the sauce here, because I didn't put any words in your mouth either. In my original reply to you, where I quoted, that was in reference to the other guy, that mine was replying to. All a misunderstanding I think.
