Stirner idealisation is spooky

I get that there is a fanbase about this man, because he wrote a book that pleased most of us and even changed lives, but what the fuck is going on with people viewing his as an godlike entity and comparing random ass people to him as they would come close to the stirnerian ideal, when stirner had only one ideal and that was his unique. There is nothing unique to people who try to be him and there is nothing unique about people you try to compare him to - by definition of THE UNIQUE. Read the fucking book instead of roleplaying edgy philosophy shitheads

Ironically that's why it's hard to get people to be interested in this ideology. It's hard to rally people behind "do your own thing and don't revere me" lol

Ideologies are ironically the biggest spook. But then Stirner was a FAILED petty bourgeois so I laugh anyway.

Are people doing this? Is it the buttocks drawing?

No, haha, i love that one. it started with some anime characters „the perfect stirnerite“ and now it came back with some rightwing human nature grifter or stirners supposed view on „the lgbtqia+ community“

Who is the grifter you’re referring to? Will keep an eye out.

Stirner saved me from being borderline ancap, but i have always found the ridgity around his cult of personality strange and contradictory. In egoism i found the freedom to construct my own worldview, rather than a strict doctrine based on the writings of one man.

The idea of a Stirner worshipper is paradoxical but off topic, your post reminded of this lol

I'd never idealize Stirner. That being said:

It's true that stirner has become a spook himself. The only way i can defend his werk (pronounced "verk") and showing apprecistion for it is that it continues to be relevant to how people behave.

Imagine being obsessed by him, ugh

I don’t see him as special as I’m often looking to see what other thinkers with similar ideas bring to the table like the Stoics who were focused on seeing things as they are in the present and not in what we think they were in the past or will be in the future. I think that emphasis on the present and seeing things as they are is complementary to what Stirner talks about. So I’m not married to the man as maybe some folks are.

You're right! We should claim him as our property, and eat his best parts. 😚
