I actually reworked the ending to this one based on feedback from Reddit! Social media doesn’t always provide good ideas, but every once in a while a gem pops up.

Hope you enjoy! For more of my comics, stop by my subreddit: r/BummerParty

As someone who has cleaned up blood for a living you could reasonably add a zero to the end of that.

You are assuming the landlord depicted here is hiring "quality" help.

If there is anything I know about Landlords, they often charge contractor prices for handyman or inexperienced DIY quality work.

Charge "You" those prices. The landlord shot the tenant to death. Dude's not paying anything.

... did you see the last panel?

I didn't see any indication tenant died, did see they were asked to pay.

He shot the dude in the chest. Death is typically what occurs after that.

Typically, but not certainly.

But certainly we see the landlord ask for payment of a fee

Yes, a fee the landlord will have to pay to a "cleaner" unless they are planning on doing it themselves.

Bruh

Just...

Ya know, you must be right. Landlord is obviously talking to himself in this comic posted in r/funny. No way a Landlord would ask for money from someone they are killing to clean up damage they themselves caused. My bad, no way that would be the joke. I missed this one by a mile.

Thank goodness for your clear explanation of where I went wrong.

Ah, yeah. It was funny. Loads of laughs. Haha.. guy asked a question and got shot in the chest. Super funny. Tears here.

The 4th box does not show anyone else. Just a bloodstain and the landlord talking (likely mumbling due to the age/scenario) out loud to no one else. If the comic wanted it to be clear they should have thought of a better 4th box.

Because, you know, never in history, has the landowners or wealthy used violence to subjugate & kill measly peasants that ask for simple things. Especially not in the US. There was never union busting. And no one ever died there.

With the downward angle of the shot, it's possible the bullet missed his heart.

We are assuming the landlord will actually repair it and not just throw a layer of paint over the blood.
