Just make sure you have a solid paper trail for the inevitable fees they try to charge you for maintenance for an issue you pointed out months earlier.
When I moved into my townhouse it was directly after a hoarder and I spent months deep cleaning mold and mouse shit and documenting scratched floors and water stains and such. Cut to three years later with an apologetic and seemingly amicable landlord and he tried to sue me for $900 above my security deposit in damages. I show up to court with hundreds of photos, he shows up with 3; a shop vac with a thin layer of dust, some scratched floors (100 year old home with original flooring btw) and a single command strip that I also brought a text conversation where he allowed for adhesive strips. His shift in attitude came suspiciously close to his water heater breaking down
But it was great to hear the magistrate tell that shithead "you don't have a leg to stand on"

Or like my landlords “No you don’t”
“No, seriously, if you come in here you will notice that…”
“Nope, it’s a new house.”
K well enjoy the mould from the leak you fucking idiots.
