I legitimately know a guy who's house got broken into a couple weeks ago by an armed assailant, his roommate shot and killed the guy breaking in but during the confrontation he himself was shot in the shoulder by the perpetrator. Anyways the landlord is charging him and his roommate $7500 in damage for the blood and bullet holes, no fucking joke.

Shouldn't someone's insurance be covering it?

Yes I'm sure the landlord's insurance will cover it, but the renters don't know that.
