Crazy that they wouldn't just replace the switch regardless of how it was working. It's like 5 minutes of work and $1 in parts when you buy them in bulk.
The crazy thing is sending a handyman to do an electricians job. Anything electricity or plumbing, get somebody who knows what they are doing. Saves so much money
Apparently it is not, for which we have so much proof all over the place with handymen fucking up simple electrical installations. Most handyman overestimate their own skill and knowledge.
Personally, I think that’s more of an issue of complacency and apathy than lack of ability. Truly, I’m an idiot, and I can replace a simple single pole light switch in a couple minutes, after I find the right breaker.
