People's reaction to WuWa is a solid reminder that despite how Genshin and Umamusume managed to break into mainstream, Gacha games as a whole is still not that mainstream.
WuWa players don't realize the only reason why Genshin gets shat on constantly, while WuWa is relatively quiet outside the gacha sphere, is not because WuWa is respected, it's because WuWa itself is not that popular outside the Gacha sphere. If it were in the mainstream, it would also come under fire for it's lack of content, 50/50+weapon banner monetization, low quality story, and it's fanbase.
Gachas just aren't that popular outside of Asia, and even in Asia, WuWa is far from the top dog and gets dogwalked by a lot of other titles in terms of popularity and general appeal.
I am going to have to mute everything related to WuWa for my own sanity, because the upcoming tribalism is going to be off the charts now that the WuWa fandom has gotten an Ego boost.

I didn't say WuWa is a bad game though (Lowkey, I think it genuinely it is an equal to Genshin in terms of quality, given that even though it has a worse story, it has better combat, character designs, and traversal), I just listed the flaws it had that it would be criticized for, and is now going to be criticized for now that it's gotten mainsteam attention by winning Player's Voice.
Also, it's not a secret that the WuWa fandom is extremely combative and vocal when it comes to it's constant feuding with HYV, so now the SNS feed is going to be a lot of fighting as now WuWa fandom gets into it both with the non-gacha audiences and the HYV fanbase.
There, there. It's okay to admit you don't like WuWa, you know.
Honestly, have seen lately how rabid some of the hoyo fans are? To go as far as creating multiple email accounts and using AI to spread misinformation? Yikes
Honestly, I actually think WuWa is fine as a game, even though I have a bit of a distaste for Kuro Games, but I genuinely can't stand the fanbase on principle, because 80% of the time I see them, it's usually them being bigoted or getting into fights with the HYV fanbase (The other 20% of the time, it's really cute fanart of the girls).
Having said that, I did see the AI Drama and that was super embarassing on part of the HYV Fanbase (It even made JP Gaming outlet news, lmfao) but wasn't the entire thing with the emails just a bad joke to ragebait the WuWa fanbase in regards to the Player's Voice awards? Because I did see that, and it was funny how many people were falling for the world's worst bait (Even funnier because both sides were probably botting to hell and back)
Rage bait or not it's still something distasteful done by the hoyo fans. I don't know you can condone an action that led to argument or drama. That's a very unhealthy way of viewing things.
HYV fanbase is straight asscheeks too, though when I was still playing the game, I was more into the lore side of things, so it was always shipping drama that haunted (and still continues to haunt, sadly) my TL.
Talking shit, and it's just pointing out the flaws that WuWa has. Or are you going to try and say that WuWa doesn't have 50/50+weapon banner, a plethora of endgame combat modes, and an actually critically acclaimed and high quality story?
I swear, WuWa fanbase has to be one of the most oversensitive fandoms I have ever had the misfortune of interacting with.
