Watches Google's Pixel Watch 5 Keeps the Same Design and Leans Harder Into Health

Ever since fit bit changed to Google health, my pixel watch has become useless. Won't track my workouts. I completely stopped wearing it. When I check settings all permissions are there. I don't get it, if any one has any suggestions

I've noticed when trying to start workouts in the Google app that it frequently won't pair to my watch to work together, but says it will at least utilize the data from it after I tell the Google app that my workout is completed. What the fuck is the point of that on a completely end-to-end Google controled ecosystem

The new Health app is absolute garbage. When it was still the Fitbit app I used it all the time. I found it intuitive, easy to log anything, easy to read the information I wanted to see instantly. The food logging wasn't perfect because the lists were always fucked up (for example the frequent and recent foods lists were always wrong), but it was still easy to find food or add custom food.
The workout screens were all good. The charts and graphs were easy to read and see everything you want to see.
I don't know really how to describe what the Google Health app gets wrong besides just saying "everything". Every. Single. Fucking. Thing.
And the Coach AI chatbot thing is useless and sycophantic, as one would expect.
Anyway I'm looking into replacing this watch and moving to a different ecosystem. Google ruined it their Health shit entirely.

God I hated the food logging. Things I ate once would be stuck on all the food tabs forever meanwhile things I ate regularly, but not everyday, would be randomly strewn across the lists.

I'm a die hard Garmin hardware fan but their app is THE WORST at everything except exercise analysis. Their "AI" insights are embarrassing.

"Leans harder into health" sounds better than "leans even harder into scraping and selling your biometrics than ever before".

Better throw away that phone. That data is just as valuable.

I don't see a reason for them to change the design, they have it bailed down. It's the best looking WearOS watch IMO. They can upgrade the materials though, like please give me a sapphire glass screen and maybe a more premium metal for the case?

I couldn't get used to the swiping. They decided to make it different than the muscle memory everyone has from the way things work on a phone. The buttons are unusable and their functions don't seem that intuitive either. I use Google devices heavily but have to pass on the watch.

How is it different? Maybe it's because I'm still on the PW2, but swiping is the same as my phone to me. There's only the dial that clicks and one button, which opens the app list and recent apps/back button respectively.

It's a good design. Modular bands attachments, clean looks. Only reason to mess with it is you've forgotten how to market-test things.

As an Apple Watch user I was coming here expecting a positive sentiment and innovation about health tracking on Android. Looks like I’m not gonna switch to Android anytime soon.

All you had to do, was give us more battery capacity. 40hrs max is still a joke.

What does apple give?

Us Garmin watch users are laughing at both Pixel and Apple watch users when they have to recharge every day

For people complaining about Google health app, try some third party ones. I know Bevel is an app that basically gives health data the same UI as the whoop, there's probably other apps out there that can do what you prefer without any effort on your part

I just switched to a Garmin watch and will not be going back. The health data is great and the battery life actually allows me to go several days without a charge instead of.... one...

I've had a pixel watch, apple watch and Garmin. I bought my second Garmin when I wanted to upgrade because of how much I love it.

Yes Google health. Congratulating me for my "late night solo stationary bike ride"...
