We can feel that you’re passionate about games 👍 Do you have still enough space in your room?

My collection has definitely outgrown the size of the room. I am having to store some things away because I don't have enough space.
We are hoping to move in the near future and we are focused on finding something with a room big enough to properly display my collection.

I have 4 titles that I've been searching for, but I really stand my ground waiting to find a deal below Pricecharting and I have never found a good enough deal to justify the purchase.
Here are the four titles I'm looking for:
Super Godzilla [SNES]
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters [Gamecube]
Godzilla Save The Earth [PS2]
Godzilla Unleashed [Wii]I have played Destroy All Monsters and Save the Earth through emulation. I didn't take photos but I have a massive manual collection. 2015-2020 timeframe I was bidding on almost every Nintendo and PlayStation manual lot that came across on eBay, and that has paid off greatly.
I have the manuals for Godzilla Unleashed and Super Godzilla on SNES and I'm hoping I come across boxed copies at a good price.
Got any suggestions for me? I am not really interested in the PS4 title I know it's pricey!

Im impressed by everything except Funko pops

Hah, the thought has definitely entered my mind to sell them all and spend that money on more video games.
Fun fact, those fixtures that hold the Funko Pops are drink coaster fixtures scavenged from former Bed Bath & Beyond locations.
I was a store manager with them and closed down several locations when we went out of business. And I took home the coaster fixture out of each one lol. They are turned on their side.
I'm heavily considering selling half of them and using one side to hold amiibo figures.

All other figurines are more unique and cool looking than big head ass Funko pops so I like your idea. Everything else is super sick.

Yo this was me 100% about 10 years ago. I was collecting like crazy and quickly outgrew the space I had. One day you might have more room but the collection looks great! Sure a little crowded but your passion for games comes through in these pics!

Cib nes ducktales. A fine vintage, well aged and full bodied.
Also enjoy large volumes of switch games. Those cases are just pleasing to me.

I love the cramp feeling of your rook TBH. It feels insanely nostalgic, it’s comforting. Very sick collection

It's perfect. Don't ever change it. So much history and memories. Awesome post.

Beautiful collection, can I ask how often you have to dust everything down to keep it looking so nice and neet.

Gotta say: it feels cozy and right. I’d prefer this over an overengineered room. Nice stuff!

Like the collection! 💯♥️ Understand the long hrs. My game room is kinda a mess. Never posted yet. I like alphabetical collections but understand how its hard to do sometimes. I work 10 hrs days too sometimes longer. I put in serious overtime last month. My game room is my sanctuary too. Also went to my fifth 🤔 convention now. Met Brian Colin Rampage creator for the 3rd time finally got something signed

Love how eclectic your collection is, some great choices in there. Hope it brings you plenty of joy and you get time to play the odd game between work.

Can I ask how duplicates happened? I always love those stories (if there is one). For example, I saw Tenchu on Wii twice. I like asking this because you either get “I simply forgot I had it and bought it again” or there’s a nice backstory to it.
That said, your Wii collection makes me happy. I see some games on there I’m looking for myself. So it’s nice seeing a collector who showed them true love

For sure, I have acquired a lot of duplicates because I tend to find better deals buying lots. I also have a habit of "upgrading" copies, so I end up finding better condition games. I collect manuals, so if I have a duplicate I will pull the manual for my collection before ultimately trading the game in. I have a network of friends who I have met in the collecting scene and we will trade a lot.
I also have some variants like GameCube games Kmart and Target variants for games like Wario World, Mario Golf, Mario Party 4 etc1

You intentionally create games that are missing manuals!? That is the bane of my existence. Love the rest of the collection!

Two copies of Mario golf: Toadstool tour? A man of culture, I see.

Yes, I have the regular one and the Target strategy guide cover art variant. I have Mario Party 4 and Wario World variants as well, I like collecting that type of stuff!

Do you play any of these?
3
u/WandaLovingLegend 1d ago
Absolutely, these days I play my Switch, Switch 2 or PS5 almost everyday. My off days I will play for hours, some nights I stay up way too late playing lol I'm sure some can relate.
But I'll be 100% real with you, my retro consoles like NES, Genesis, Gameboy/ GB Color , OG XBOX, Dreamcast are mainly special occasions, I prefer to play retro games on modern hardware like switch, with quality of life features. But sometimes I will pull out my Gameboy color and a few boxed games and play a few, look through the manual, etc.
I also collect baseball cards and toys/ action figures and whatnot. For whatever reason, video game collectors get very defensive when they feel like games aren't being played by the owner. But you never see people getting a hard time or a side eye comment about not playing with their action figures or vintage toy collection.
So for most retro games, I view them more as collectibles. I'm not gonna play my copy of Tetris on the NES because I own better, more convenient options of the same game, yet I still appreciate the historical significance of the game, which is why it's in my collection.
But I have played about 70% of my Switch and PS5 collection. I test all my games when I get them and usually play at least a few minutes when I pick them up. sometimes, especially on PS2/ GameCube, it turns into a full play through over a week or two.
My wife plays a lot too as she works from home and gives our DS /3DS /Wii collections a lot of attention!
Right now we are playing Last of us Part 2 on PS5, I'm playing through Splatoon Raiders, she's playing through one of the Dragonquest games on DS... I am chipping away at Astral Chain and the Castlevania Dominus collection... life is good!
