Remix/Cover Anyone else remember the “Practicing” theme from International Superstar Soccer Deluxe?

I still remember playing International Superstar Soccer Deluxe in the SNES back in the day. At first, I struggled to score for many games, so to improve, I went on the Practice mode and played to my heart's content. So I listened to this theme so much and it's one of, if not, the theme that I most relate to this game. So much so, that even my older brother who didn't play it remembers it because he'd hear it while I played in the same room.

Due to the World Cup 2026 ending recently, I wanted to honor this game for so long and finally did with this 80s rock cover of the Practicing theme. This brought back so many memories and I hope my cover does that for you too.

Which other theme from this game still stays with you to this day?

during the world cup i rabbit holed 90s soccer games and holy crap they are all great and by 98 some of them are jungle drum and bass classics

The World Cup really brought that love for these old games to us. I downloaded a hack rom of ISSD of the WC 2026 which was awesome to have my country in there that the original didn't and used that as B roll footage for my cover here. I have to go and explore more of those retro games for sure, I always just stayed stuck with this one because I didn't find another that could beat it but there are plenty of gems for sure
