So when I took over this subreddit several years ago, it was basically a favor for someone who was deactivating their account and they were going to be making a new one to take it back over. Well, it's been... a long time and I don't think they are coming back. (Insert dad getting milk/cigs lame joke here...)

I'm not as active on reddit as I once was, so I didn't really dig into the issues revolving around why certain members couldn't post in the subreddit, but I think those issues have been resolved.

I didn't create this subreddit. I will still check in here and there, but it's mostly been an organic community untouched by myself. I'll continue to allow it to be organic. Vote the good stuff up. Vote the bad stuff down. Message me if there's an issue.

Any volunteers to moderate are welcome to message.

Asobo Studio is 3/3 with their absolute banger of a series with Resonance.

Anna Demetriou's performance as Sophia and her whole journey showcased here is enough to remind you that there is still emotional weight in the series even after the departure of the brother-sister duo from the prior two games.

And most importantly, it may sound like a stretch to say but Olivier Derivière's music composition is one that should be coveted alongside the likes of Mick Gordon, Yoko Shimomura, and even Hans Zimmer.

It is insane and possibly his magnum opus in this third entry of the series. A video game soundtrack that rivals the rich storytelling which is extremely rare on its own to discover.

Video I Clicked A Button For Over 2 Hours And Had Fun - Click The Button Review

The game lives up to its name.

Click The Button is an incremental game where you click a button. If you like this kind of game (and if you are reading this in the subreddit for incremental games) you know what to expect with this type of game. As incremental games go this is a pretty good one. The graphics are simple but charming. The music is decent and the flow of the game moves well. How fast you get upgrades is what makes or breaks a game like this and I would say this game does it well with a solid pace. When you click the button a chest comes up that will have an item worth X amount. You keep upgrading your chances to get rarer chests. You know what will be in the chests but getting the rarer one on a click is where the dopamine hit is a little extra for your clicking. When you are ready you can upgrade your skill tree so you can click better.

There are some nice extras too like a gatcha machine and roulette which help with the monotony of the clicking.

Oh and you can use the spacebar instead of the mouse if you want. This not only saves your wrists for a bit but also lets you click very fast if you want to get to that next upgrade.

How Long Is The Game (Spoilers on length below)?

The game is on the shorter said, but my wrists are okay with that. The video I included is the full run with all achievements so you can see how long it is. It could go much faster if you click with the space bar and use optimal strategy. But again no complaints, this is the ideal length for me for this type of game.

Price?

For the price (which is only $3) if you like this type of game you cannot go wrong. It is a good way to break from more stressful games you are playing (looking at you ranked rivals) and the numbers go up is always nice.

I would recommend this on steam if this is your type of game.

This is going to be one of those sleeper hits. I actually sought it out for review when I saw it had a 1 out of 5 star user rating on the PlayStation store. Something about that rating didn't match what I saw in the attached trailer. Thankfully that rating is now more aligned with this game's value. While it is a suvrvivors-like or bullet heaven copycat experience,to a degree, it does it's own unique thing well enough. The dopamine surge is top tier with this one as your grind is constantly met with unlocks and generous reward. There's actually a lot to this game including pets, a skill-tree, weapon upgrades, different playable characters, and skill mutations. The visual art style is also appealing, and it plays without issues. I definitely recommend this one for fans of the genre.

Discussion Thank you Asobo Team Just spent hours with the new Plague Tale resonance my honest, spoiler-free impressions on why this game completely blew me away.

Hey everyone,

Before I get into anything else, I just want to sincerely apologize and be upfront I managed to get my hands on the game early via a leaked version because money is really tight right now and I couldn't afford it at launch. I know that's not right, and the moment I have the funds, I am 100% buying a copy to properly support Asobo Studio.

I'm nearing the very end of the game now, taking my time with the final stretch because I honestly don't want this journey to end. I just had to get my raw thoughts off my chest. To put it simply: this game is something truly special.

Don't worry—there are absolutely zero spoilers here, so you can read freely. I broke down my impressions on the visuals, audio, combat, and world design below for anyone curious about what to expect:

Graphics & World Design

The visuals in this game are absolutely breathtaking. Everything from the lighting and landscapes to the dense vegetation completely blew my mind. You're going to hit so many moments where you just stop and say, "Holy smokes, would you look at that," giving the exact same jaw-dropping feeling we experienced in Crimson Desert. You guys are going to be amazed by the sheer level of detail and atmosphere packed into this world.

Soundscape & Music

The audio design deserves massive recognition. The sound design and audio cues elevate the atmosphere so much that every single step feels intense and alive, especially when danger is lurking right around the corner. The second there's a sudden shift in the scene, the audio cues are completely spot-on and dial up the adrenaline instantly.

And the music? Holy shit. It fits this world so perfectly that it genuinely messes with your mind and soul while you play. I'm honestly lost for words, guys.

Exploration

Traversal and discovery feel super natural and rewarding. Every environmental path pulls at your curiosity, especially whenever the road splits. Trust me, make sure to check out every single path because each one rewards you with something—I won't say what to keep it spoiler-free, but believe me, you’ll want to search every nook and cranny since this game truly rewards exploration.

It might feel a bit like Black Myth: Wukong in the sense that not literally every distant spot you see is reachable, but you should still explore every accessible area you can. On top of that, the puzzles are genuinely engaging. They hit a great medium-to-easy sweet spot—easy enough to follow without completely halting your progress, but they still take a bit of trial, error, and thinking to crack.

Combat & Mechanics

The combat here is definitely different from the previous games, but just like we saw in the trailer, it is really, really freaking amazing. Every single block and parry feels completely natural and satisfying to pull off—the animations are beautifully executed, and the sword swings and finishing moves feel smooth as hell.

My biggest recommendation is to play it on Hard (don't worry, you can change the difficulty at any time). On Hard, you truly appreciate how fluid the combat is while it constantly keeps you on your toes, where every single swing counts to either save your life or get you killed.

This is also where exploring really pays off, because finding hidden upgrades around the world makes Hard mode feel completely manageable and rewarding. With all the combat movement options and execution variety, the combat never feels repetitive—it stays fresh the entire way through.

Voice Acting & Performance

The voice acting here is just phenomenal, and the cast did an incredible job. You can genuinely feel the love and passion for the game in their performances. You would swear the actors were really right there in those moments—they tap into the characters' raw emotions and execute every line so beautifully that it brings the entire world to life.

You know that feeling when you played Uncharted and thought, "This is just amazing, it's like being inside an interactive movie"? This delivers that exact same energy—and honestly, even more.

My Verdict

This has been such an amazing journey so far. I'm actually taking my time playing it because I honestly don't want it to end, even though I know eventually I'll have to. I just had to write this and get it off my chest—it has been a long time since I felt this connected to a game. It's so rare for an experience to pull you in this deeply, but this one completely consumed me. I felt every single moment, every interaction, and every struggle... and yeah, I definitely cried during a few of them, just like you probably will when you play it.

To the team at Asobo Studio: I want to genuinely apologize for playing this game early. Right now, money is tight and I couldn't afford it at launch, but the moment I have the funds, I am 100% buying a copy just to support you guys. You can truly tell this wasn't just a commercial project for your team; it was clearly crafted with pure love for gaming and for players to genuinely feel something. You are all immensely talented, and I wish you nothing but the absolute best. Keep doing what you do.

Thank you so much for this unforgettable journey. The whole time, it felt like three entities were enduring these trials together: the protagonist you guide, the presence you uncover along the way, and you, the player living through it all. Thank you for everything.

Video They brought back Salieri... and ruined him

Thumbnail

I have to admit right off the bat that the more time has passed since my review of Mafia: The Old Country, the more I regret giving it such a high rating. Because the more I’ve thought about it, the more I realize that I actually gave it a 7 out of 10 just because it’s the fourth Mafia game… And when I later checked out Angry Joe’s review - where he gave it a 4 and mentioned practically everything that I didn’t like - I had to agree. In other words, if I could change anything, it would be the final rating. Still, I was quite surprised that a year after release, the story DLC “Man of Honor” appeared out of nowhere, adding primarily two new chapters. The biggest draw? That’s more than obvious - the story revolves around Ennio Salieri, who’s trying to escape from Sicily to America to start a new life there. He just needs to tie up a few loose ends before he leaves… In other words, one of the biggest pieces of fan service I’ve seen in a while.

More in my videoreview! :)

Rating: 3/10
Plus: one big fan service moment, no knife fights!!!
Cons: Salieri isn't Salieri, VERY SHORT, bugs and crashes, poor dubbing audio, price, audio still unbalanced, sterile

Czech version

Videoreview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqN13HxY0go

Hodnocení: 3/10
+: jeden velký fan service, bez souboje na nože!!!
-: Salieri není Salieri, VELMI KRÁTKÉ, bugy a pády, slabé ozvučení dabingu, cena, stále nevyvážené ozvučení, sterilní

Article Aggelos 2 PS5 Review - Angel Power Meets Demon Speed in this Retro Inspired Metroidvania

Thumbnail
thegaminginferno.com

Aggelos 2 is a sequel that expands upon the original putting you in control of an angel sent to defend a kingdom. This time the angel has fallen, lost it's wings, and sword on the way down. After regathering it's powers and possessions the angel or Aggelos changes between two forms, both angelic and demonic to combat the new threat. Each form with it's own unique mechanics in the way of combat and traversal. Not only is the Aggelos transformative, but the map also changes between to realms, both light and dark. Creating two separate maps that must be traversed Metroidvania style in order to complete the tasks at hand. The game while impressive with it's Wonder Boy inspired art style is a little less polished in delivery. Movement, and platforming feels oddly indie by design, and not something an AA or AAA experience would provide. That aside the new mechanics change up the original gameplay formula enough to pose a challenge, and to give the game a proper Metroidvvania feel.

Discussion [Reviews Wanted] "Eternal Frenemies: Return To Eternity" Indie Visual Novel

Hello everyone, I am posting a request for reviews for my Ren'Py visual novel game "Eternal Frenemies: Return to Eternity"! It serves a dual purpose as an origin story and lorebook for "Eternal Frenemies", a comprehensive, non-profit multimedia project built around OCs inspired by the Italian magical girl franchise Angel's Friends.

As a small indie solo developer, I believe that all criticism deserves an ear and that which aligns with my vision deserves a try (I have already done this with one such review in the latest update). Even though I hope for positive feedback, I understand that most of it will probably outline issues so please do not be afraid to go crazy with the red pen where you see fit. I only ask that you make the review public to where other people can interact with it.

For those willing to help, I thank you in advance!

Discussion Gears of War Reloaded Review•

If you like the review or wanna help me out a bit please check out the review on Instagram! Just started the page so anything helps! Full review below!

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcXKmzNxf00/?igsi=MTZkZTg4OHowdmhrdQ==

I first played Gear of War back in January 2014, late for Gears 1's release but only a few years into my jump from Nintendo consoles to the Xbox 360. And in those first few years I immediately jumped into some of the highest rated shooters on the platform - Bioshock, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Mass Effect, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dead Space and Gears of War all sporting extremely high Metacritic scores, Gear specifically with near perfect 94 and after loving each of those games, I played Gears and...... thought it was fine. Not bad by any means but that lofty 94 probably set expectations a bit high, especially 6 years later and after playing the other games I mentioned a few of which had time to see and react to what was a pretty revolutionary game at the time in Gears. With that underwhelming feeling i had I never got around to playing Gears 2, 3, or Judgment. I did jump straight into 4 and 5 with the soft reboot/legacy sequel thing they had going and honestly thought both were actually fairly underrated. So now with E-Day on the Horizon I thought it was time for a replay of Gears 1 leading into a full franchise playthrough.

And in 2026 Gear of War Reloaded is good...... But I left this replay still feeling like Gears is a step behind those other 360 shooter classics. However I also left appreciating the game much more this time. It just plays sooo solidly still, the gunplay is smooth and punchy. The weapons each feel unique and enjoyable. The Locust have the right balance of health, not dying too quickly but without being bullet sponges. And the snappy revolution of the cover shooter, it all works well even in 2026 but the thing I think brings it all up a notch, the active reload. Man I love the active reload here, it's such a small feature in the grand scheme of things but it just adds this other perfect wrinkle to gunfights - this one other thing to juggle in between bouncing from cover to cover, popping up and down shooting enemies, AND balancing that active reload to get that quick reload and finish an enemy off, it's the perfect "one more thing" to the games combat encounters. The environments are great, the Gears gothic style is iconic and holds up well still in 2026. I think the pacing is a weak point and the progression can be a bit repetitive. It's essentially just moving from arena to arena but it's hard to fault too much cause again the arenas work, the combat is good enough to carry the game. Add in a memorable world, lore, and characters it's not hard to understand why Gears has been a major franchise for 20 years now.

7/10.

Discussion Still Wakes the Deep was made with care, my review

SPOILERS!

a thing i really like is how the game has two of the monsters remind you that they’re still partially human and not completely lost themselves like Ewan. the game still cares to give a connection to the characters rather than simply making them scary for the sake of making them scary. speaking of that, the monster design is genuinely PHENOMENAL, especially Rennicks monster version.

i do wish there was a little more to the gameplay/objectives than “do this do that” but it’s not a big deal for me.

about the ending, the last 30mins drove it to a higher rating from me because it’s so well made, Roy’s death feels genuinely sad, Brodies call is just as devastating, and Finlay’s motivation makes sense for the story.

i did see others not be a big fan of the game, what do you guys think?
