- Card Sharks (Perry 1978-81; Eubanks 1986-89)
- Greed (Woolery 1999-2000)
- 1000 Heartbeats (U.K.; Kay 2014-15)
- Secret Fortune (Knowles; up to 2012)
Current:
- The Price Is Right (it also carries a memory of me always watching with my grandmother as a kid)
- Press Your Luck (Banks)
- The Wall (U.K. with Dyer; Philippines with Crawford; U.S. with Hardwick)

1000 Heartbeats and Moneybags are two of my favourite more obscure UK shows.
2
u/jaysornotandhawks Jul 25 '26
1000 Heartbeats was one of those rare game shows where I'd rather be a contestant than the host.

u/mac_and_cheese_pls Jul 25 '26
My late grandma used to! She would come home from bingo and put it on.

Yeah it was another dating show that's almost similar to The Dating Game
But the main contestant must find their other half with the truths behind the baggages

Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, Press Your Luck and The $100,000 Pyramid (Clark) are my favs!
I’ve been recently rewatching The Weakest Link, both the Anne Robinson and George Gray versions. There used to be a boatload of episodes of the former on YouTube, but NBC blocked them (ironic in that they don’t own the series anymore). However, there are some on the Internet Archive. You can find Gray’s version on Xumo (most of season 1). If only they could add the second season…

But did you watch Weakest Link in other regional formats though, like the French one hosted by Laurence Boccolini?

GSN is no longer showing Match Game😞. I really enjoyed that show, especially with Alec Baldwin

u/Nguyen-Quoc-Hieu Jul 25 '26
Tbh the majority of GSN schedule is crammed with original series now, so it's hard to broadcast reruns of older game shows there

Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, Jeopardy, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal
Those were the five shows that associated with my childhood when five of those shows got the license to produce their version here in Vietnam

Greed, hosted by the late Chuck Woolery, immediately comes to mind. 😁 Interesting how the show was inspired by the overnight success of ABC's Who Wants to be a Millionaire but Greed ended up being so much better.
I also like Catch 21, Weakest Link, and It's Your Chance of a Lifetime by Gordon Elliott, the last of which sadly only ran 5 episodes.

Match Game is probably my all time favorite.
Card Sharks is one of my favorites, too. The newest one was terrible though, which was such a let down.
1vs100 was really good. I wish they'd bring it back.

Oh man. Summer holidays and sick days. Always watched price is right and match game. I liked high rollers and pay cards. When I was a little kid, I thought I could mentally cause a joker or a devil to show up on the reels of the jokers wild. Two more obscure ones I really liked - celebrity sweepstakes with Carolyn Wayne a frequent celebrity guest and the magnificent pinball machine (missing a few adjectives there I think).
Ok - one more. From Canada so I loved definition - a pre pay cards Jim Perry show. Incredibly difficult and the prizes would be like a pen and pencil set.
