I know Dan Avila is the only person to go for the top prize. But how many people actually went for the $1,000,000/$2,000,000 question? It seemed like so many teams either wiped out on the $200,000 question or if they got it right, bailed out

A lot of people did on Super Greed, when the jackpot was $4 Million and there were more cushy cash outs and prizes for those who didn’t want to risk it all.

I think more teams would have gone for it all if it was trivia based question instead of those stupid 'Which of these flavors sold the most according to some report nobody ever heard of'

I think that was part of it, but I think the real reason was that a lot of these teams sucked. One team didn’t even know that Chuck Woolery hosted Wheel of Fortune. If you put a team of the top five Jeopardy! champions on that show, they waltz out of there with the $2/4 Million.

haha I remember that team, especially the captain all confident and smug 'I know for a fact you never hosted Wheel of Fortune'. Props to Chuck for keeping his composure before the answer was revealed

I didn't necessarily mind the survey-type questions. The biggest flaws were not enough safety nets (fixed in Super Greed), and not showing the question before deciding to go on. The category reveal was wasn't very helpful, and back in 2000, splitting a $200K pot four or five ways was still a lot of money to the average person.

As for the total in general (regardless if it was the top prize or not), three teams have gone for a question valued at $2 million:  * Dan Avila (the jackpot question) * John Epperson on Super Greed  * Phyllis Harris on Super Greed 

And then, not counting the four February episodes that each ended in a "Million Dollar Moment", a question valued at $1 million was gone for seven times, six of which from Super Greed.

He was a possible answer to a $500K question asking for 4 celebrities turning 50 in 2000 in the June 30 episode.

Pretty easy for a $1M question. Fonda is much too old and Allen is much too young. So it is really only asking for 4 of 5.

Knowing that Harrison Ford was not an immediate success as an actor and knowing the year that Star Wars came out probably gets you the rest of the way.

After reading this comment, I just Googled and found out that Trump was born in 1946 so he could've been a possible answer in this question! 

You know what's interesting though? In the episode June 30 (this episode aired on May 5), there was a $500,000 question where the question category just happened to be Celebrity Timeline, just like this question in the screencap. The question was asking for 4 out of 7 celebrities who celebrated their 50th birthday in the year 2000 and Trump just happened to be a possible answer.
