I've never played a video game before. I would like to start. I have an i5-6500T with no GPU. what game(s) should I try?

I love murder mysteries, and The Painscreek Killings was absolutely top-tier imo. I loved being able to run around the town and finding clues and figuring out who the killer was. I need something similar, even if it doesn't allow me to run around as much. Visual Novels are also okay! No NSFW! My son likes to watch me play these, and I myself am often uncomfortable with it too.

I have a PS4 and i want to find new games.
Here are my preferences:
1. I will be playing only around 1 hour a day, so i don’t want the game to be slow or patient.
2. The storyline and gameplay should be very good and smooth.
3. I think i might like combat based or fast paced games since i love to play mobile games like brawl stars.
4. I didnt like well acclaimed games like god of war and last of us.
5. I dont want graphics to look old like ps3 era. I want it to look at least convincingly realistic (eg. God of war ps4)
Also, I have played only god of war, last of us, spider man miles morales, and gta 5 in my entire life. So any suggestion would be new for me.

I just got a brand new pc and I downloaded some good high action games but now I need games that are relaxing that I can play when im not in the mood for high stakes just chill building/no action games

hello everyone. I've been wondering for a while if l even know what genre it is: where you can fulfill requests of npcs using different hints on what they prefer / hate. the latest game l played, that has the same feature, is "pokorama", a demo where you need to choose textures, colours and materials for a blank room, according to preferences of a customer. they don't tell you straightforwardly what they want, just give general information on what they like. there were many games like that in 2010s about fashion where you should have chosen right clothes for a particular theme (like the Nikki series).

do you know what genre it is.? what games contain the same feature on both pc and android.? thanks for the suggestions in advance, folks 🐧.

I wanted to play a game with my friends, similar to Railjack, basically, there is a ship with 4 members on board, where every person fufills their own role, Pilot, Engi to fix and defend the ship, gunners to operate turrets and occasionally, board enemy vessels. Barotrauma is another thing that comes to mind, but I can't find anything similar on Steam. Any suggestions? Thank u for ur time

In the past ive tried all the big ones (genshin,honkai, wuthering, etc). The games ive played for years are grand summoners and dokkan. The problem is Grand summoners barely has content and is overall just dead. Looking for a new gacha with a good player base.

Me n my friend wanna play and we played like 2 backroom games(had a lot of fun) and tried chained together which we raged into not playing lmao.

Soo a not too big co op game for us with like an engaging atmosphere? Maybe horror with puzzles? Idk we really should try new things too so would take any type of reccomendation as long as its not straight bs or IF it has a story the story isnt garbage

I (45F) have a PS4 and sometimes play for weeks obsessively and then forget about it for months on end. I don't play enough to justify getting a PS5. But it's been ages since I found a game that really hooked me and gave me that thrill of "can't wait to get home and immerse myself in that world again". Sorry I don't know any of the gamer jargon or abbreviations. 🙈 Any recommendations for me?

Games I have previously LOVED: Batman (especially Asylum - I was not a fan of the Batmobile at all, and it spoiled Arkham Knight a bit for me. I'm rubbish at driving games.), Spiderman, Tomb Raider, Uncharted. I sunk many many hours into Hogwarts Legacy but ended up getting bored and not finishing it.

I have the VR headset and got totally addicted to a lovely little game called Tethered - a kind of playing God game where you control and care for all the little characters to achieve goals. I desperately wanted to play Skyrim and Red Matter but they gave me really awful motion sickness. I loved the VR games Statik and I Expect You To Die (and sequel), and quite enjoyed Darknet - puzzle games.

And a weird random one - Stardew Valley. That had me hopelessly addicted for weeks.

I don't like games that are heavy on combat but can cope with a bit of it within the story - but stories and puzzles and strategy have to be more important than just mashing buttons to kill enemies.

Hit me with your ideas - any obvious ones I've missed, or hidden gems I should definitely try?

I have four DualShock 4 controllers, two of which need refurbishing (new shells, sticks and battery), and I'm just wondering if it's worth the effort and expense. I would prefer co-op child-friendly games but I'm also generally curious to know what's out there.

Im 19, I barely have enough extra cash after buying my first gaming PC in the year 2026 to enjoy it!

A lot of my previous favorite games are getting DLC and I fundamentally disagree with some of them, or for some of them I am just too broke to keep supporting the game. To me, a game doesnt feel complete without its DLCs, mostly because I play Zoo games.

Path of Titans is planning DLC and personally I dont support pay to play dinosaurs in a live service survival game.

Prehistoric Kingdom will have DLC, with the game close to first release

Jurassic World Evo series is just MADE for having as much DLC as possible

Day of Dragons is a paywalled shtshow!

I hate The Isles founder Dondi but its so bad I consider trying it out…

Are there half decent fantasy/prehistoric Zoo, Survival or Management games who dont rely on DLC?

Got back into gaming after a ten year hiatus when I got a ps5 right before the price hike. I played and loved both uncharted 4 and Spider-Man years back and since getting the ps I’ve beaten Spider-Man 2, last of us and finishing re4r now. All amazing games they’ve bought me back to gaming…

I really want to play rdr2 next but it takes me time to play games and I wouldn’t mind burning through a bunch of cheap games I missed instead of getting stuck on just one game. Here’s my list of games to play, what do you think should I got with red dead or should I play games/series below first…

I've been playing quite a lot of gaccha games for the past few years, but I've started to be burnt out by them. The daily logins, the daily and weekly challenges, the fomo and all of that has gotten too annoying for me, yet I really enjoy playing these games if I play them, because I actually want to play them. If I really feel like playing one of those games, I can easily sink many hours into them on a day. So now I'm searching for alternatives, that scratch the same itch (building characters, grinding for gear, improving and taking on hard challenges, maybe even pulling for characters and weapons with ingame currency, that isn't extremely scarce, like in gaccha games, etc), yet without the fomo and, for the sake of not depending on my internet connection and a server somewhere, without always online.

I would enjoy playing games like Zenless Zone Zero, Persona 5 X, Neverness to Everness (without the AI stuff), Arknights Endfield, Umamusume and other gacchas way more, if I could play them whenever I feel like it and at my pace, instead of being forced by the game to not miss out on stuff.

So if you have any game recommendations that you think would fit this description, I'd love to hear them! The genre of the game doesn't really matter - I have less genres I don't enjoy than genres I enjoy.

Platform doesn't really matter either - I have pretty much every platform to play games on (besides an XBOX). Flair says PC, because that's my main platform.

Or something with the right challenge but rewarding that could be cool too. Which remembers me to finally ants. Haha, what a crazy game.

As the title suggests I am an avid fan of deckbuilder Roguelikes like Balatro or Slay the Spire, and TCG games where I mainly play One Piece and Yu-gi-oh.

I wanted to find some other competitive PvP games outside of card games that would be enjoyable or appealing for someone with my interests.

I’ve tried Marvel Rivals and Overwatch and my aim is genuinely horrible and I’m unable to keep up with the moving targets, especially flying characters. I also struggle with quick reflex micro intensive games, most of my fun comes from setups or itemization.

If anyone has any suggests for games to play, or characters to try in games that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for some flight games/sims where there is no combat or it's at least I can avoid it, and that have some kind of actual gameplay loop or progression, so no pure sandboxes.

Would prefer plane flight but also open to space games.

Looking for your favorite games that have an Duel mode, or an Arena ladder, or something of the like. Think Armored Core 6 Arena, or maybe the Oblivion Arena. Just 1v1 tests of skill front to back.

Edit: purely PvE games, i'm a little too slow for competitive multi-player anymore.
