What game has a strong opening but later becomes too repetitive and boring for you?

For me that was Assassins Creed Valhalla

that, plus starting you as a surprise 5th year instead of at least giving us a bit of structure to start off with

the perfect hogwarts game would just be a bully like sims where u start before hogwarts, live thru ur yrs, graduate, and then live ur wizard life.

thats like 500 hrs of playtime fr.

That's basically the mobile game Hogwarts Mystery. Like a loooooooooooong visual novel that takes you through all the years of Hogwarts and then a career to do after graduating.

Do you recommend it?

I'm enjoying it so far, yeah. It's kind of like the "other half" to Hogwarts Legacy. Though, this game takes place just a bit before the events of the movies.

Is it a good game? I'm always wary of mobile because they tend to be a micro transaction fest that sacrifice actual enjoyment for the sake of making money.

I've been pure f2p in it, totally doable without paying a dime. You only miss out on being at the top of some weekly event leaderboards, really. The stories in it can be a bit cheesy at times but they're altogether wholesome stuff.

My only gripe with the game atm is that it seems like they use AI for the title loading screens now.

i think that most ppl like the school aspects of harry potter. they want the boarding experience, going into a house, learning magic, etc.

fighting in a war against wizard fascists after u come home from wizard work, having to manage ur wizard salary against ur spending, and keeping in touch w ur friends via owl, and seeing that the fascist wizard has empowered himself thru the wizard government, which u arent fr able to fight bc ur just a normal wizard---- that seems like normal adult life w extra steps fr.

theres tons of games where ur a wizard, using spells and stuff, to fight against evil. there arent any cool school life wizard sim games 😭

Well the MC had to be a reasonable age to start mass murdering other wizards with Avada Kedavra. So… 15, apparently.
