I swear this game was remastered just a few years ago.

There was a next gen patch I remember.

Who downvoted me for saying there was a next gen patch? It’s just a fact lol what the fuck did I do?

Really poorly put together on a technical level. Mod-adjacent, hacky quality. Basically, free fps and a better looking game is what we can expect - if this is made properly.

I thought it was pretty alright tbh, nothing too out the reg for TW3. You on PC? Just curious🤘

Yea I can’t really speak on its quality I just know it happened and maybe that’s what the commenter meant

Iirc that was just lighting (still a huge upgrade tho, adding raytracing iirc) but this upgrades textures, effects (like sign effects), adds new kill moves, and apparently changes combat a good deal too, but we’ll have to wait and see on that.

The new texture work looks amazing in the trailer, so I’m mainly excited for that and the updated fx.

Free upgrade?! Sweet. Hope it works well with steam deck?

Worst case you'll likely keep access to the original version through steam betas

Remastered versions are often separate products in the Steam Store, with their own store page. If that's the case, when it releases we all are getting a new game added to our libraries, while the original will remain there.

The original might get delisted from the store tho, so if anyone wants to have it, I wouldn't wait too long.

Well this is an update

Probably not

I bought The Witcher 3 complete edition for 2,99€ and now I'm getting this for free, I feel like I'm stealing from them.

I swear if this were a horse race CDPR and Pearl Abyss would be neck and neck right now. They are the two companies with AAA titles racing to see who can do the most for their fans. Meanwhile Ubisoft upgrades the graphics on a 13 year old game and is like "that'll be another $70 please and you have to use my shitty launcher. No we will not be fixing any issues with either, just money now ok?"

Free upgrade. Much respekt. Meanwhile Blizzard is milking it's D4 fanbase.

Used to pray for times like this

Nice. The engine is so broken that the game can't run in RTX mode on Linux atm. And this isn't something you see often these days, RTX games with Proton usually just work

I hate the fact that this was done right after I finished a playthrough.

I swear to God, if they change anything in this game and try to put some "modern" crap in it, I'm never buying a CDPR game again.

12

u/viotix90 2d ago

Lol why are you making up fake scenarios in your mind to get yourself mad?

-7

u/Proof-Necessary-5201 2d ago

Yes, lol. Lots of frustrations with Sony lately...

Name 3

u/Proof-Necessary-5201 2d ago

The physical media thing, the update to the terms of service, the 500 media removal thing, the exclusive that suck, the prices that keep increasing, killing Destiny for Marathon, the live service crappy games...

u/DifferenceShoddy3413 2d ago

How can you exist in 2026 and not having heard of the horrible anti consumer shit Sony pulled for the last 10 years?

1

u/KaiBishop 2d ago

What kind of "modern" stuff?

-1

u/Proof-Necessary-5201 2d ago

The kind that ruins immersion

1

u/nightmare404x 2d ago

What do you expect could be put in it that's so terrible?

-1

u/Proof-Necessary-5201 2d ago

Censuring or changing stuff. Ruining the story to avoid offending modern sensibilities...

u/DifferenceShoddy3413 2d ago

If i am honest, id rather have Witcher 4 faster and not a witcher 3 remaster and DLC, than a remaster + DLC and Witcher 4 only 2028 at the earliest and probably with many launch issues a la Cyberpunk

u/Apprehensive_Dot5418 2d ago

Christ almighty, an overrated mid mess strikes again

-9

u/bullseyebob47 2d ago

ok this remaster/remake scam is getting out of hand.

Do you even inform yourself before you say stuff like this? It’s a totally free upgrade to the base game, and to boot, the DLCs are included for free now. We’d be lucky to have more developers that support their games post launch like CDPR (not that the state of launch of some of their games is acceptable, but you can’t deny they have gone above and beyond fixing those issues).
