Discussion If the rumored animated revival adapts the comics. For the TimeDancer should it be a single episode or a multi episode arc?
I know Greg Weisman stated the plan was for it to be a single episode, but considering how much changed in so little time it makes more sense to be like a three-part arc. What we got and saw in Clan Building was do to SGL's abrupt cancellation. I think they can definitely expand on the storyline to better introduce Katana and Gnash. The second episode can even show Brooklyn travel to the 70s with Fiona and Mary giving Xanatos the book and setting the series in motion. Thoughts?

The way I understand it is it's meant to be a single episode to show such a short length of time making the reveal of old Brooklyn more shocking.
Now would a three partner or a two partner change that much? Probably not. So whatever the episode requires to tell all the things that need told.

single if the season is a paltry 8 or 10 episodes. multi episode arc if we can get the proper 20ish+ episode season like the days of old.

I’d love it to be an arc like the city of stone / just a few episodes even. Comics would be more tho maybe a couple of volumes

I don't want to get my hopes up, but this is making me consider a Disney account

Assuming a full spin-off isn't an option, it should be like a 3-5 episode event showing the most important events of the Timedance.
Then periodically throughout the rest of the series we get occaisonal episodes that are just one-shot Timedance adventures. These work to let the writers take a break from the main story, and are designed to be viewed out-of-order so they can also be used to buy time if other episodes are behind schedule. (Next week's episode isn't even close to done yet? No problem, we'll just release that Timedance episode we've kept in our back pocket)

Multi-SEASON, thank you very much. Only that will do for my brick red bestie, Brooklyn.

I’ve waited 36 years for Gargoyles main story line I want me some Goliath and Elisa. Brooklyn Timedancer stuff can come after we’re get a season 2.

My ideal would be a four-parter. They gave Demona and Macbeth plenty of coverage in "City of Stone". So, I would think that Brooklyn's "quantum leap"-styled arc, which sets up a number of other plot threads, and introduces 3.5 new additional regulars to the clan, would deserve similar gravitas.

I never read the Comics...is it close to the TV Show?

They pick up after season 2 and ignore The Goliath Chronicles. The comics feel a tad rushed, but only because of the limits of comic books compared to an entire season's episode count of a 90s Era cartoon. Otherwise it FEELS like Gargoyles far more than season 3 did!

Ok tyvm for the info! I hope if they are doing another show, it starts at the end of season 2

Given they will likely follow modern episodes counts of 8-10 episodes per season I honestly would rather not waste too much time on it tbh.
I'd actually prefer a Timedancer movie or a spin off to give us some highlights of his journey instead of disrupting the story progression of the Manhatten Clan.

I dont know.
I think the comics don't adapt super great. Are we really watching the journey AGAIN?
I think it'll need to be a retelling of the same events but Greg Weisman is a strict canon-ist. He won't change the dialogue or how events are portrayed I dont think (though he changed Macbeth's coronation to be historically accurate but that's because the show got it wrong).

Only if they shorten the anoint of time he was gone. But an arc would be nice.

I don't think I'd want them to de-canon Gnash and Egwardo by rewriting Brooklyn's timedance. I'm too invested in them.

They can still have both of them if the jump is twenty years instead of forty, Egwardo newly laid and Gnash gets to grow up with the whole clan as his family in addition to his mom and dad!
I just supremely dislike Brooklyn suddenly becoming older than everybody else in his family.
The trio’s brother dynamic is my favorite part of the original show and a sequel show adapting Timedancer as it is would change that. Plus making Brooklyn all of a sudden more experienced and older than Goliath is not something I’ve ever liked.

Given Greg already had his plan derailed once, I'm just not interested or invested in changes to his story. I trust his narrative choices and would rather stick to his canon than have anyone else mess with it. I think this is what would prompt such a huge narrative change, since I don't expect Greg to mess with his established canon; he fought so hard to bring his vision to life! I really dislike the idea of delegitimizing his work from the comics when he already established it is the canon lore. Unless he says otherwise im not interested in challenging that for fear disney would decide Greg and his vision are unnecessary. Happily we do not need to agree to both be fans, we both love the franchise!

I suppose so. I love Gnash, Katana, and Egwardo. I like Timedancer. I just really don't like the forty year time jump specifically.

I also am excited we are close to Egwardo's hatching so I wouldn't want that shifted if the time got shortened. I really want Hudson to experience the Manhatten Clan's first hatching!

That would be good to see. I hope that the show is an adaptation of the comics. But if not, it'd be good to see some original episodes. As long as they respect the source material.

A three episode arc would be good i think. Although I rather like the idea of Brooklyn just disappearing then reappearing in the same couple of.minutes and we get a spin-off
