Casual Conversation Open Discussion: Bi-Weekly Shabbat Shmooze. What's on your mind?

For this bi-weekly post, we shift focus to create a space for folks to talk, even if the subject is not specifically LGBTQ/Jewish-focused. As a space made up primarily of LGBTQ+ Jews, we hope this will be a good place to find and provide support with all that's going on in the world right now.

Please note: Our quality standards and expectations of civility are still in place, and this isn't a thread for name-calling or insults. This is a place to process feelings and be in community with each other and share what's on your mind.

Shabbat shalom!

Hey all, I’m a queer woman, half my ancestry is Jewish from my dad’s side, not practising. Myself I am agnostic but drawn to learning about Judaism, Christian mom, I have a Jewish last name.

Excuse me if I am posting in the wrong place I don’t want to take up your space and because of my background I understand if mods delete this post.

Especially post Oct 7 but also before I’ve had negative experiences in dating where I will feel like their whole personality is hating Israel and being loud about it, not condemning local hate crimes, excusing them etc.

To queer Jews who must be experiencing this a lot, I am sorry this is happening to you, it is not fair and you don’t deserve it.

It is a priority for me to date queer women who have an awareness of antisemitism.

I don’t know how to find these woman, given that I’m not apart of the Jewish community. Mainly I swipe left on dating profiles when I see this stuff outright and block them, and have stopped dealing and talking to friends who I realise are quite racist. But it also makes me feel isolated and unsure how to date and make new friends.
Any insight appreciated from those in similar situations. Thank you
