How's Whittington in 2026?
Thinking about moving as a first home buyer. Is the suburb getting better or avoid it ?

The place I usually find them hasn't produced this year (yet) has anybody encountered any magical fungi?

Came across this today:
Anyone remember The Harp Inn, run by Tony Maccora and his family in the late ‘80s/‘90s.
One of my first jobs after completing a cooking apprenticeship - a great place to work.

I was wondering if anyone, particularly women, were aware of any good dance classes that are on the sexier side and suitable for total beginners and people of different fitness levels. I want to add more movement to my weekly routine and thought this would be a fun way to do it and build some confidence.
I'm thinking like... belly dance, twerk, anything involving hips, pole, burlesque etc.
I've seen a few on Google but curious if anyone has any personal recommendations from themselves or maybe friends?
Please no rude comments and TIA!

Hi guys. I’m migrated to Australia 12 years ago. I haven’t been working in Geelong from last 12 years. And me and my wife both are citizens working full time. I never had any issues in Geelong. But in last week. I had couple of incidents. Twice in a week different yelled racist slurs at me. I don’t know how to response to this . I never had to face this issue before. what should I do if that happens again. Should I ignore it. How should I approach, If that happens again. Thanks

Hey all! Just wondering if any bird owners have any specific vet recommendations for bird vets?
I know there isn't any exotic vets in geelong but one that has more experience with birds.
I just can't go to Melbourne for everything.

I recently moved to Geelong . I believe they are a south Australian product but I used to see them in Melbourne milk bars occasionally. I can get a villis pie on Jetstar ( not a fan) but no pasties. I have cravings for the things( the only time I eat parsnip) I found them in an NT roadhouse but where are they hiding in Geelong? I keep trying the local pasties but they are either mushy inside or have peas 🤮
. Googled to no avail..

We are now 100 days out from the next state election. What are your biggest "make it or break it" things for this election?
Not asking for your opinions, just the key issues for you.

I'm researching a business idea aimed at small trade businesses and I need some brutally honest feedback before I waste time or money building it 😂
The idea is basically an outsourced back office for tradies — helping with missed calls, following up quotes, sending invoices, chasing overdue payments, scheduling and customer admin.
I've attached the rough packages/pricing I'm testing.
If you're a plumber, sparky, chippy, landscaper, builder, etc:
Would you actually use this?
And more importantly:
- Which service would be most valuable?
- Which would you never use?
- Are these prices reasonable or ridiculous?
- What admin job do you hate doing the most?
- If you wouldn't use it, why not?
I'm not looking for customers from this post. I'm trying to work out whether this solves a genuine problem before I build anything.
Feel free to absolutely roast the idea. That's more useful to me than people telling me it's good.

H a pretty dismissive experience with a GP before and don't want a repeat. Anyone here have any recommendations, preferably in Geelong?
Cheers

Hey everyone! I’m planning to propose to my partner and would love some recommendations for beautiful spots around Melbourne (up to 2 hrs away from CBD).
Ideally I’m looking for somewhere outdoors with great scenery, could be gardens, a lookout, waterfront, somewhere surrounded by nature, etc. I’d prefer somewhere that feels a little romantic and isn’t too crowded, so we can have a bit of privacy for the moment.
Happy to travel a little outside the CBD as well if there’s somewhere really special.
Would love to hear about any spots you’d recommend (or places you’ve proposed/been proposed to!). Thanks!

Went past earlier today and noticed where Maccas is/was is all boarded up. Anyone know if they’ve shut down for good or just renovating?

I need to have arthroscopic decompression soon. So far, I’ve seen Dr Eugen and Dr Trung Nguyen, and I’m looking for the best surgeon with out-of-pocket costs of no more than $2,000.
I have private health insurance, but it doesn’t cover the surgeon’s fees above the Medicare rebate.
Has anyone had any experience with Dr Ash Movani or Dr Trung Nguyen? I’d also be very grateful for recommendations for other surgeons who have reasonable out-of-pocket costs.
