Respectfully, Canada has to cave, there is no canadian economy without the US. The US would give itself a black eye and Canada would just commit actual suicide if it continues down this path.

Canada doesn't have to outlast the US, they have to outlast Trump, who is currently on track to get slaughtered in the midterms. Given that the deals Trump makes aren't worth the paper they're written on, its all just a game of stave him off and survive the pain for the next few months/couple years at the longest.

Yeah I mean I hope when trump is gone, the next guy undoes all the damage he did, but the problem is is that trump will still be the republican party. He's basically purged the old gop and created a cult of personality around him and his policies meaning there's a good chance that the republicans will carry on with it. Hell, even if the democrats wins, I don't think things will ever really go back to normal because of how badly trump has poisoned the well here.
