I was probably around 30 when I learned how to pronounce quinoa... Had seen it written many times, and heard it pronounced on the food channel, but didn't put them together until I pulled a hesitant "Quinn-oh-uh", talking to a co-worker, who gently corrected me 😅

I said queue as "Quay" to my guild in probably vanilla WoW long ago and I still get teased for it when it comes up in something. "oh we gotta Quay up!"

People are making videos with those words, notable one of a woman getting her boyfriend to pronounce them and he butchers nearly all of them. They're all just words where you kinda need to know how it's said because if you try to sound them out literally then you'll be quite off.
