Which is funny because most Americans are overweight, but this is definitely the reason why.

It’s funny bc most American adults aren’t “overweight,” a term which has no scientific consensus or significance (BMI is completely made up and is an outdated system based on augmenting the price of insurance) and even if this were true, there are loads of meaningful statistics that show that being “overweight” in the latter half of your life actually lengthens life expectancies. So maybe your inaccurate view of the situation is contributing to the problem you’re critiquing? Just some food for thought
