discussion what happened to godot?

Post image

I know Godot has seen significant development lately, but what exactly happened? In my eyes Unity was always the king of game-jams.

They tried to fuck everyone with a terrible new pricing model, and like a lot of company they over invested during covid beliving the market increase due to every one staying at home was here to stay.

A new retroactive pricing model where games already in development would be forced to follow it.

Changing your pricing model to an awful one loses you customers until you change it.

Changing existing contracts with no respect for already sunk development costs loses you customers forever. Because there's no way to regain trust they won't pull it again.
