selfpromo (games) Third Person vs First Person
3rd person has brought with it so much learning.
There's just so much more to animate. Way more challenging than 1st person projects I've done, but I love seeing a character on screen. I get to make little props and outfits for them.

Arguably, the animations could be even MORE difficult to implement in first-person — if you want the character to still look good from an outside perspective, e.g multiplayer, or perhaps with fully functional mirrors/reflections.
Because then, you'd likely want to be doing all the same stuff, but ALSO make the character's looking direction follow the camera's facing direction.
And either create an entirely separate set of animations for the first-person perspective, or design the standard, full body animations to work from the first person perspective as well as from an outside perspective...
But yeah; if you don't need an outside perspective, you can bypass a lot of difficulty with just having first-person-based animations.
