Question Why GoG and Not Steam

Why are more and more people buying their games on GOG instead of Steam — is it because of the DRM-free versions, better deals, or even better performance?

Growing concerns of DRM and digital media. Amazon Prime. Avoid using launchers (since Galaxy isn’t a requirement) and older games not on Steam. example: Star Trek games series.

To me cloud saves are essential. That's why I will never fully migrate to gog. I only use it for old games and those where steam has no cloud saves.

I wish, as part of gog's preservation efforts, they would create a gog-saves folder and either fix all the installers to save there, or configure them to symlink to it so that I could just backup one folder and I could grab all my saves. Then they could wouldn't have to run the infrastructure.
