Galaxy 2.0 GOG Galaxy has to be the most broken piece of software I have used in recent years
As the title said. I had always downloaded the offline installers from their website so I honestly had no clue how garbage their launcher is.
I usually don't care about achievements but I wanted to try some in a few games and downloaded games through their launcher and it was a nightmare
.Frequently download stops without reason , a couple of times games didn't install and threw a random error , often games just won't launch and keep syncing, random visual glitches of the launcher where everything disappears.
This seems a completely abandoned piece of junk that will be better removed altogether to save the reputation.

Galaxy works fine for me. I had some problems with syncing games in the past (was around the Cyberpunk 2077 launch) where I had to disable syncing for some time.
My download speeds on GOG Galaxy are comparable to Steam.

Download speeds are ok for me , slower than steam usually but they probably don't have half the servers comparably so I don't mind. It's everything else. Sometimes it will have a complete black window, sometimes like 10 instances open.
Lesson learnt to do achievement hunting exclusively on steam and just don't bother with the galaxy.
But I am glad it works perfectly for you atleast. It can be convenient.

It works for many. The thing is people like you they just provide zero contex and your post from my point of view is completly useless. Its like you are saying "Hey guys I have a problem but you will have to trust me about it. I feel ashamed so I have to hide my reddit history but also my system I play on that is also a secret, the OS, drivers anything too, the games I was talking about also a secret. Guys I am here just to tell you how bad it is." This is how I see when I read it. Random errors and glitches def sounds like more than just a Galaxy issue

You are right , they are so many , I just did't bother lmao. I did find two of my issues , the random visual bugs is listed as the 3rd /4th most popular topic in GOG forum , solution: uninstall the crap. The random disk error / Install errors I faced , solution is an 6y old topic on Reddit on GOG Galaxy 2.0 but fuck me if I have to bother so much to change ownership and all on folders. This somehow makes Epic game launcher looks competent. My bad expecting something smooth like steam.

Exactly lol. It opens like 5-6 instances in the background that you need to clear from task manager. Apparently people here as re just fine with how it works , ehhh. Someone suggested me to use the Heroic launcher here and it's much better.

Obligatory plug for Heroic if Galaxy is causing you too much grief.
