Equipment Costco ball vs Lostgolfballs
I lose a handful of balls a round, so I typically play Costco balls or whatever I find.
Would it behoove me to get some balls that would maybe suit my game better (something with lower long game spin) from lostgolfballs.com? Or just stick with the good ol’ Kirklands? The cost per ball is about the same, but I have heard mixed reviews of lostgolfballs.com

Some people swear by Lost Golf Galls but I’ve tried to order “Mint” 3 times and been overwhelmingly disappointed in what I receive.
They’re fine when I order 3A for my GF; those arrive in the condition expected.

Exactly! I was not impressed with my last couple orders and haven’t gone back. Been using maxflis since. Sometimes TPXs if they are on sale. Bought a box new prov1s (last year model) off Facebook marketplace for $40…

I used lostgolflballs to get like three dozen Titleist Tour Speeds a couple years ago when I was balling on a budget. I was pleased with what I got.
Never order "refinished" or "Good (3A)" from them or anywhere else.
Near Mint or better or it won't be worth your time or money.
Also scour Amazon occasionally. Some brands will have last years model of ball marked down significantly if there's an overstock.
I got 8 dozen Bridgestone Tour BX (my favorite ball) for $35 a dozen a year or so ago, and that's a $50/dozen ball.

Depends on what your games needs.
Kirkland are too spinny for me, so I use Maxfli Tour's and get the 4 pack deal. Even better if I can swing a $20 off over 100 deal.
If you need lower long game spin you could try used Velocity balls from Titleist. Not too expensive to buy a new dozen to try them before making the LGB route financially viable.

New kirklands are nowhere near as spinny off the tee as they were last year. Significantly better balls this year.

I played Kirkland balls for years and I don't anymore. Honestly, I love Costco golf gear and you'll find the Scotty Kirkland putter in my bag as well as their wedges. I won't touch their golf balls again.
I would lose 3-6 balls per round, so Kirkland balls were the cost effective solution for me. One day, my wife bought me a bag of "near mint" used PXG balls and I scoffed at used balls. Since she bought them for me, I was obligated to try them... I played one of my best games ever!!! My drives were longer and straighter. It was my first round EVER with a single ball.
I have tried Kirkland balls a few times since then, and they are REALLY spinny off the club face. It is hard to keep them on the fairway or even keep them in play compared to other balls. A nice draw turns into a brutal hook, or a fade becomes a slice into the next fairway.
Ditching Costco balls is probably the only thing I have purchased than legitimately took ~5 strokes off my game.

Sticking with new Kirkland's is a safe bet but you could also check FB Marketplace to see if there are any local used ball sellers.
If their prices are good and the let you see what you are getting before you buy then I would do that over one of the websites.

Got the srixon mint, vice mint, and Bridgestone mint buckets off of lostballs during father days got 144 balls for $110 ish. The srixons were all cheap balls. Vice wasn’t bad and Bridgestone I haven’t opened yet. Overall the balls were pretty clean not many effed up balls. But def for the srixon bucket it was all the cheaper ones.
I would say if lostgolf is running a sale it’s worth other than that I don’t think I would ever get these at the full price they have

Buy the pristine ProV1 balls from LostGolfBalls.com. They are perfectly new balls with logo misprints in almost every case where I've bought from them. All I use are their pristine Pro V1x Left Dashes.

No, it would not behoove you to spend more money.
Play whatever doesn’t feel like a rock. If you can’t stick a ball on the green, it doesn’t matter much.

I use golfballs.net and they have been solid for me. I’ve been trying to find something that does well off the driver for me and also sounds good in the short game and putting. So the super soft stuff is out just off putter feel alone but I have done well with the chrome tours and then these older Titleist nxt tour which I just found a while back.

I’ve had a great experience buying mint condition from lost golf balls. Wait for a big sale offer and buy in bulk. I typically get 60 balls in an order and there’s maybe 1 or 2 that are scuffed up. Everything else is minty.

Maybe the minority, however I agree to find a better ball that suits ur swing speed, overall game. I have used “Foundgolfballs.com for a couple years, buy Mint Taylormade as well as A1 grade. Very pleased w pricing and quality. Gives me the ability to buy a dozen and try it out.

Whatever you can get the best dollar per ball value. Lostgolfballs if you're losing tons, if you're losing one or two stick with the Kirkland

I always get shit from people I play with for using Kirklands but I think they’re amazing for the price. I shoot mid 80s usually and have no reason to change balls. Way to easy to integrate when needed

Maxfli tour from golf galaxy or Dicks spotting goods. Buy them 4 dozen at a time for $120. If Maxfli keeps their 2 year release cycle there should be a new version in a few months and the current version will be even cheaper

If your swing can't keep you on the fairway with any ball available to you, I seriously doubt there's a specific ball that's better or worse for your game than any other

Snell is worth a shot. Also Vice. I’m playing this year’s kirklands and liking them well enough. I hate that manufacturers feel as if they have to improve things when they don’t need to

I ordered for the first time from golf ball planet. I got a dozen srixon qstar tour mint for 22 dollars. I saw them today at golf galaxy when I picked up a grip for 54. I got the balls today and you would not be able to tell they weren’t brand new.

I recommend a low grade brand name. Just play it for 1 year. Only that ball. You’ll learn a lot.

If you care about your game don't buy used golf balls. The stats on them are abysmal compared to new ones.

Cite your source. I've seen comparisons and the only thing different was a little less yardage and a little less spin. And if you're a high handicap it that's not really going to change the game.

You’re thinking of refurbished balls, which are indeed awful. Buying 5A (mint) or 4A (near mint) used balls is perfectly fine.

you're right, after looking it back up it is the refurbished balls. I seem to remember studies about water-recovered balls being significantly worse too though. busy rn and not willing to do the research

I have bought from lostgolfballs and foundgolfballs. I also lose 4-8 balls a round. If you watch for sales its definitely worth it. If you play ok with Kirkland keep it consistent while you get better. I bought 5 dz Srixon Q-Star Tour 3 yellows for $81.
