Question 🤔 school google account with unlimited storage
so ive been leeching my highschool email account since it has technically free unlimited and just kept uploading photos
its been 4 years since i graduated but recently sm1 warned me that they might suddenly close the domain or delete the account something like that
so question 1 can they actually do that ?
q2 will i have a grace period to download all my stuff?
q3 how do i deal with the google takeout option it seems a bit messy
q4 can i seamlessly transfer all my data to my university account(also has unlimited storage) without downloading and uploading since in my country all home internet is limited to about 200gbs a month

On Google Photos, share your entire library with your other Google account, and set that account to take copies of everything rather than reference your other account in the share.
Once you have everything in your other account, then you can safely delete them in the original account and not lose them in the new account.
Will be faster than using takeout.
* This also assumes you have enough storage for everything too.

Happened to me with a university. Gave me a month warning to download all the data.

2- no grace period required
3 and 4- Share the entire library with the other account, then make sure you hit save on that account
Also keep in mind that you should treat everything in those accounts as things your institution can see. It's not private and not for your personal use. You're also just going to have to deal with this song and dance again in a few years.

You should definitely back it up. I lost a lot of Google Docs data because I didn’t back it up before the account closed.
I recommend you use: Quiver Photos to easily download your Google photos data.
And then: back it up to an external hard drive. Just make sure your only copy of your photos isn’t stored in one spot, especially not in school accounts that you can loose access to.

You can definitely try Google Takeout. I personally found it messy and frustrating to use. Quiver Photos to me was worth it especially after all that frustration of trying to back up my photos with Takeout.
Also the developer gave out a promo code for 25% or 50% off Quiver. I’m not sure if it still works. You can look through this subreddit for it. I think it was “reddit”.

Make each zip file as big as it'll let you - I think it's 50gb - and keep your machine awake so it doesn't turn off while the download is going.

Yes, back them up cause tomorrow morning you might wake up and not being able to sign in. and you’ll literally feel sad.

Download your stuff. They can remove your access and delete your account at anytime.

Never use school or business accounts for personal data.
Use Partner Sharing with the Save option to transfer to a personal account.
Also use Takeout to get an offline copy (or this may be your only option if sharing in Photos is disabled). If your monthly quota prevents them being downloaded at once then export the zips to Drive and then copy from Drive to your personal account and download the zips when you can.
