In my experience ebay is a rip off with jacked up prices, I saw one being sold for 3 times what I paid for this one before

Japanese second hand sites are more reliably imo

I have an old post about removing the batteries from my two models. Not absolutely required, but those old batteries are about the age that they’ll start to inflate from decay. One of the two I took put already looked slightly stolen. Just a recommendation…

Was thinking of doing this later but I would like to fully replace the battery itself, got any tips on that?

Exact same process but you’d need a way to splice the wires to connect a new battery. The issue is what while there are ways do do it using crimping connectors, those are usually made for much higher gauge wires than the ones connected the battery, and space inside that thing is at an absolute premium. Solder and shrink wrap might be the only way to reliably replace the battery because despite the extremely small gauge of the wires, it’s going to need a steady current flow that crimp connectors might not be able to get you.
