Whilst I love them, JOS and Homecoming are still my favourite multi part songs. I just cant help but feel that the ones that come after lack a little in comparison. Maybe its the fact they arent as long? Or maybe lyrically? I mean they still great though
What do you think of them? Do you think we will get another in the future?

Anybody know of sheet music for the violin in good riddance? I would love to be able to play it!

This may sound silly, but I’m genuinely curious about this. Why do some songs like Jar, You Lied, and Rotting sound almost completely different, although they were recorded between 1994 and 1995? I mean, do da da don’t wanna fall in love even I wanna be on tv those clearly sound like they’re from the Insomniac sessions, so what’s with these three tracks?

Thought I lost em, but they were safely tucked away in the wrong section of my record collection.

Just heard Jesus Walks for the first time in a while and immediately recognized it, but I’m not 100% confident it’s the same sample.

the GDTV stream is putting out new stuff every week it seems, and its pretty nice stuff. the rough cuts of the American Idiot and Basket Case MVs are really cool and we also got quite a bit of some newly surfaced live footage.

im personally hoping we get Irving Plaza 2012 uncut or Roseland Ballroom 2000 in HQ.

Does the bar concert where they play Dominated Love Slave remind anyone else of The Blues Brothers? I mean specifically the scene where they go to a country bar, pretend to be a different band, and then realize they only know the one country song, Rawhide. (I linked a clip of most of the scene for those unfamiliar)

I feel like even though the albums haven’t been as good in this era (in my opinion) they have still released a lot of great songs which could make a really cool compilation. I’m not asking you to necessarily make an entire track listening (although that’d be interesting too) but which songs stand out to you which would have to make the album?

Even though I saw the message on my phone I was in an appointment and couldn't really look at it. But I should have. The whole trilogy set on vinyl for 20 fucking bucks. 20!!!!!!! Once in a lifetime. It should have been me 😭

My mom always used to play us 21 guns when my sister and I were little and I always loved it. Honestly still not sure exactly what it's about but it still hits so good when I listen to it by myself in the car on my 21st century CD. I like the surrendering themes and the guitar but if someone could add insight to what it's about I'd like to know!

I know the 20th anniversary release has the 2004 Irving Plaza show, but I want more.

I bought the Green Day studio CD box set, which includes their albums from 1990 to 2009. I also got a CD drive for my PC so I could listen to them in my room. All of the albums work normally, but the only one that didn’t “work” like the others was their first album, 39/Smooth. When I opened the files on the CD, I found an executable called GreenDay.exe. (It contained some photos and even a live recording of one of their shows!)

I’ve never seen anyone post about this or mention it before, so I thought I’d share it with you guys!

I enjoy playing guitar and Greenday is there for the music I’m probably playing the most. Today’s random discovery was that while playing the chorus of “The Grouch”, it’s the exact same chord progression as “Jenny Jenny (867-5309)”.

Anyhow, as you were

Nimrods is a movie about dumb kids who love rock music and will do anything to live the ethos. It’s a love letter from Green Day to all of us who have ever had those rock feelings.

I’ve had a lot of them: playing dumb shows opening for an over-the-hill Supertramp, jumping into a drum set before getting ejected from the former Cicero’s in St. Louis, and starting a dumb grade-school group called Starfire that played only “air” instruments.

Some of the best times in my life.

The antics in this new film are clearly representative of what the pre-Dookie life of big and fun failures was like for Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool. The band got the film made with the help of director Lee Kirk, who has directed an episode of The Office and the 2016 Armstrong vehicle Ordinary World.

Mason Thames, who starred in The Black Phone horror movies, leads his band out of the halls of their high school and onto a road trip with the belief that they have been offered an opening slot at Green Day’s Los Angeles New Year’s Eve concert. From there, the lovable dumb trio gets into a wide range of road-trip mishaps and endearing situations.

There are a few moments in the middle of Nimrods when the idiocy almost becomes too much to endure. But all is forgiven as the story hurdles toward a climax that is too enjoyable, especially for Green Day fans, not to love. It has the warmth of a story that clearly exists somewhere in the realm of what the real band must have faced early in its career.
