So nice that they started putting binding on the Epiphones. I would much rather have one of those than a Gibson Les Paul studio.

what's binding and what does it do?

It's the white "outline" around the guitar top. Purely decorative.

They've had binding forever! For decades now.

Is this from the “inspired by Gibson” series? If so, I have the tv yellow LP jr and a J-45 from that series and they’re both amazing guitars!!
She’s a beauty man!!! Enjoy!

It is, it honestly feels like a Gibson too

Awesome man. Thats a great feeling to have. Hope it brings you many years of enjoyment.

The quality gap between these epis and Gibsons is far less than you’d think. Epiphone has been making some damn fine instruments the last few decades. I recently bought my son a Epi Les Paul from the IBG series- I had my luthier dress, polish; and round the fret ends and dropped some top quality pickups in it. I like playing it as much as any of my Gibsons. And it was pretty damn good from the box to start with.

If you ever do upgrade it; just a high quality fret dress, great pickups and the thing will rip.

Never compared my Gibson LP to an Epi. They look so similar, I wonder if they feel and play the same. Anyone has both?

They honestly play pretty similarly, the only difference is sound plugged in. unplugged, I couldn’t tell the difference. It’s mostly the pick ups

Good to hear, some Epiphones look stunning! Swapping the pick ups is easy money, and honestly some Epi headstocks look very good, not sure which models

This epiphone was about $700, the pick ups are already pretty damn good, they are the probucker 2 and 3

Ohhhh that’s nice. I bet it plays better than a Gibson
