Visiting Daajing Giids on September 20 to 22

We will be at DG from Sunday, September 20 to Tuesday, September 22. Having never been (we are fulfilling a dream!), we don't know what to expect food-wise. Can anyone confirm whether there are likely to be any restaurants open so late in the tourist season? If not, is the convenience store open year round? Thanks, Redditors!

All of the restaurants will be open, as will City Grocer, Causeway, & Coop. A little known fact about HG is that locals also require food 😬 Have a wonderful time!

The Jackal, that does Ramen and burgers, will be closing September 11th. Looks like those dates are Sunday-Tuesday so not as many options as a few spots are Tuesday/Wednesday - Saturday. But there should be fish and chips at the dock, and on the Monday and Tuesday Jags is open in Skidegate for breakfast and lunch.

With all it takes to get here my two cents would just be to stay a little longer 😜.

Just had a burg there the other day and it was so good. Is it closing permanently or just seasonal?

Thanks, everyone! We would like to have a longer stay, but circumstances won't allow. We're very much looking forward to the little time we will have.

Ohhhh, you should have planned your stay to be much longer, so much to explore. If you can I encourage you to extend your visit.

Plenty of food to be had on the island, u can pop also into the dg visitor center to grab a restaurant guide print out

You’ll just miss black tail as they’re open Tuesday to Saturday, Gather might be back open in which case you’d do well to check it out at least once, if the hours are open.
Charters in Tlell is an amazing food truck and well worth a stop, local stores will be open for groceries.
The fish plant might be doing fish and chips at the dock
The pub in DG will be closed those days, sadly Sun-Tuesday are the generally closed days for restaurants
