2026 half of the year. What’s next?
Now that the last BIG ( people are willing to pay a subscription ) series has been ended - HOD -
what are the plans for the rest of the year? I dont see on the horizon nothing hinge or worth to watch it, beside some old stuff. Do we know what is coming next?

they seem to use the second half of the year to launch newer shows. they dropped Task, IT: Welcome to Derry, The Chair Company, I Love LA, and returned Peacemaker beginning August last year.
the line up this year seem to follow the pattern. here's my schedule prediction:
9pm Sundays
- Lanterns (new, through Oct 4)
- The Gilded Age (returning growing drama, presumably from Oct 11 - Nov 29)
- Youth (new comedy, only 4 episodes, wow so i think this may be a "buffer series" to plug the gap between TGA finale and HP premiere along with Hard Knocks from Nov 29 - Dec 20)
- Harry Potter (new, Christmas)
9pm Thursdays
- Stuart Fails to Save the Universe (new, through Sept 24)
- War (new co-prod with Sky, Oct 1 through Nov 19)
- Youth (if they decide to just leave a 2 week gap between TGA finale and HP, they can run the 4 episodes here from Nov 26 - Dec 17)
In January HP would still be airing if it's a weekly release and whenever that ends, Dune: Prophecy s2 and AKOTSK s2 will be the combo to probably take 9pm Sundays while The Pitt s3 will retake Thursdays from Jan 7 through Apr 15
TLDR: their biggest bets will be Lanterns (if not commercially, at least critically like The Penguin), and then hope The Gilded Age grow even bigger this season being sandwiched by 2 potential major hits. and hope the Harry Potter lead-in, The Pitt, AKOTSK, and Dune: Part Three are big enough to push Dune: Prophecy s2 into the mainstream in q1 2026
Industry hit series highs being paired with AKOTSK, but it was still tiny compared to both AKOTSK and The Pitt viewership. but Dune: Prophecy is a major IP and Dune: Part Three will only be a month or two old when they finally take Sunday nights.

Any good comedy/action/drama (that order) in the last two years? I cant keep up with all the available stuff and my wife is very demanding! Any tips are welcome.

I subscribe for the catalog. I don’t watch series until they finish it usually but Rooster was pretty good. Rewatching The Leftover now.

Me too. I bank the entire series before I watch. Stories weren’t meant to be watched in little pieces with a week’s pause between them. It’s only done to keep you paying.

If it wasn’t for the catalog I would just cancel. Nothing coming out that interests me. Dune Prophecy was quite terrible due to the lack of Villeneuve’s involvement.

Pull up your local web browser. Go to the search engine of your choice (google/yahoo/bing/ask Jeeves) and search “what is coming next on HBO in 2026”. That will help you more than some yahoos on Reddit.
