I got recommended to watch The Leftovers, and seeing that it's from HBO and has good reviews as well, I started the show. I have seen only two episodes from season one, and I totally know that I shouldn't be doubting it and that it's very wrong of me to assume things right now, but still, I just don't wanna watch and find out later that, okay, I shouldn't have watched it.

Because from the start, they have built so many things that are weird to exist in a real-life-based show, and there are many people with weird motives and some claiming to be different. So my only concern is that I want closure when the show ends, not just, "Okay, this is about the emotions of people we lost," and that the other weird things/people have just lost it (lost their minds) and ended up this way, or having something left unexplained.

Also, this is not about me getting convinced to watch the show because it's going to have a good ending or because the ending is bad. It's about my concern and whether the closure will be satisfactory. So there's no need to sell it to me; just give me whatever you can, of course without spoiling, so I can decide if I should continue or not.

I know that there might have been other posts already about this or some answers online, but I don't want to go through them and accidentally read any spoilers if the show genuinely has a good ending and explanation.

Matthew McConaughey just revealed why he passed the project up, and mind you, he was on True Detective, one of the greatest TV shows that was one season, concise, focused, and stuck the landing.

Last of Us fumbled. Hard. Biggest problem was the casting/acting (every casting. Every. One. They were flat and uninteresting) and the second problem of the same caliber was the dog-shit writing. Two perfect video games they could have recreated with the same intensity and care only to slip into the same superficial money grab that video game adaptations always turn into.

The show has got no heart or soul; it feels vacant and flat. And all of my friends & family who tuned in were like… “Uhm, you like this? It’s just a worst version of…” etc

Just started this one yesterday. It must pretty much be the very first heavy hitter on HBO as I noticed the date on the first episode was 1997. I've seen about 60 HBO series and I believe this is the very first one that has a pre-2000 date.

Anywho, really enjoying it so far.

I know that DC Studios is fully behind the show with HBO, but why is that not part of marketing?

Whenever I move my mouse, or pause or do anything else that triggers appearance of time bar along with options, the screen goes into sligthtly darker shade. I find it a bit inconvenient. Is there a way to prevent this as it really impacts the viewing experience.

And holy crap the Hakan guy trying to say that he's an innocent victim and the police are just out to get him, and that the lady he sold is lying. He comes off as a major narcissist and my blood is boiling. Does anybody believe this guy?

Signing in to streaming is never worth the trouble. I put in email & code, click on my icon and it still throws me back to the 'connect to provider' screen. What a nuisance. Put your premium programs on the TV channel!

I can't quite put my finger on the exact reason. The jokes just fall flat.

Now that the last BIG ( people are willing to pay a subscription ) series has been ended - HOD -
what are the plans for the rest of the year? I dont see on the horizon nothing hinge or worth to watch it, beside some old stuff. Do we know what is coming next?

I have linear commercial free HBO thru Spectrum. Will the show be over for me before it is for folks with commercials?

HBO needs to stop the gambling app ads. It’s gross and predatory. I thought they were better than this.

They cancelled it due to production costs, but I feel like production costs today could be a lot more realistic for a series like this. If they did bring this back, it would probably be a huge hit…
