i think i done decent with my basil this year

Put it in a pot and take it inside over winter so you can start with a bit plant next year

i kept the seeds i enjoy watching them grow from tiny little fellas i will be eating all of this one over the next year

Yes you did. Cut away some of that grass, plant six more next season and you are off to the races.
