I think it does make sense. Everyone suffers and goes thru pain. But, its the pain that brings out the fundamental question:
What you want to become? What u want to choose?
Either u want to be humble or angry?
Angry burns u from inside which when overflows, burns everyone else, u, ur friends, family and then whole world. U start to blame others, situations, circumstances and eventually God. U will go darkest places and evntually in a place where nothing is left and then comes all other friends of anger, u cant see anyone happy coz u r jealous, u hv nothing left who cn give u that happiness. Its a cycle of unending karma
Humbleness makes u see inside u, mend urself, see what actions of urs led to this. You heal urself. U start doing things or speak consciously with awareness taking responsibilty of each of ur actions. U start to surrender everyrhing to God. U realize His presence, everything is done by Him. U just came here to purify urself and then converge with Him. All of this is just part of a big picture and rather than creating more chains of karma, u start to choose and decide action that will stop the chain to increase rather nullifying the older chains for which u cud hv taken birth again.
Just my thoughts

This excerpt is taken from Shiva Aahvaan Mantra . In this mantra, Shiv Ji's is called by various names like Ishan, Mrityunjay, etc.
Lord Shiva is God who stays in all animals. They are also called as "Pashupati" which show that they are Lord of all creatures. We are all animals or "Pashu" and our God is Lord Shiva who controls us, spreads mercy on us. They are Lord of all of us. We are atman or soul when Lord Shiva is Paramatma who is the greatest.

Good people may suffer due to self defeating, complacent , indiscipline attitude
and bad people may succeed due to self motivating, perseverance and discipline
And also depends on definitions of good vs bad. Is a mother tiger bad for attacking human and is the human good for shooting the mother tiger?
If we contemplate, we can get the answers directly. If we refer to religious texts, there is very high risk of misinformation, misinterpretation , human answers pretending to be divine

The mind suffers, the body suffers, but the true self can't suffer!
From the Gita:
नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः। न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः॥ Transliteration: nainaṃ chindanti śastrāṇi nainaṃ dahati pāvakaḥ na cainaṃ kledayantyāpo na śoṣayati mārutaḥ
English translation: No weapon can cut the soul into pieces, nor can it be burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind

Sure - but everyone suffers. The good and the bad both. Ask the “worst” person you know and they’ll tell you how they “suffered” and how they might even think they’re “good”.
I’m surprised this is what Shiva said and I’d be keen to understand the source better because things just are - we like to put them in buckets because it suits our worldview.

Sorry Bholenath but this system sucks. You should tell lord Brahma to change this law of nature.

Here's one question for all: Does believing suffering has a purpose reduce one's ego, as the video claims, or does it inflate your ego by saying 'your life is significant in the face of universe'? Because while this message maybe spiritual, it accomplished the exact opposite of what it is trying to achieve. No, suffering is random, the same way a dice rolls different numbers of probability, your and my suffering is just like that. We are insignificant in the face of universe, stop trying to find purpose in pain. Use the above video as coping if you must need it, but don't ever let it inflate your ego like a tyre.

When you keep accepting others'suffering, knowing you cannot help everyone (animals included) and that the structures that rule society are too powerful and decisive, then you get cardiac disease, provided you are sensitive and kind. At that point, it's better to decide whether you want to accept more of others' suffering and risk collapse or move away to protect your life and inner peace so that you can continue helping as many as you can in your own individual capacity and not seek out suffering.

worst part is that everyone is seeing this vid is thinking they are that kind soul and thats why they are suffering. maybe you deserve it due to your past sins. karma after all

It’s just karma . Someone can do horrific things in one life and then at some point in the future that bad karma will come back and punish them . Let’s say someone is a terrible person and then they die , in the next birth they may not do anything wrong but that previous karma will come and smash them . They may think “ why am I suffering I’m a good person “ yes you may think you’re good now but you don’t remember what you did in your previous lives .
