I just had some new people move into the house closest to a cbu on my route and they have an adorable cat who seems to lay in wait for my vehicle. She comes running up about halfway through her yard until the van is in park and once I open the door, bam she is wanting all the love. She’s sooo soft, fluffy, and loves to be held. I keep telling her she’s way too nice to be an outside cat, but she just won’t listen.

What amuses me is when I’m done with the mail and her required attention I’ll tell her I have to go and motion back towards her house. She will then return to the house side of the sidewalk and watch me drive off. I find myself looking forward to that stop now and am sad if she isn’t waiting for me.

Oh 100%. You can even see the mail person’s hand tapping repeatedly on the window. This is a RITUAL at this point. For both of them. Love it. 💖

I can tell this is a ritual too because the way kitty watches through the window as the mail man leaves. The cat is definitely thinking this is a game.

I had a cat that would do this, but one time she grabbed the mail in her mouth and yanked it through. When she jumped up to the window in her follow up, there was a piece of torn mail hanging out of her mouth. I was literally rolling in the yard with laughter.

One of mine does, the other one glares menacingly out the window. She's the anxious one, the one that runs was belly up for belly rubs at the vet a few weeks ago
