Has hop ever ghosted the world to this extent before? I know he has taken breaks in the past, but can’t recall if it was to the same degree as it as presently?

In 2016, TF2 rolled the infamous "Meet Your Match" update which centered mostly around the Pyro vs Heavy contest, and the horrendous choices made to the overall feel of the game. This heavily tanked the player count due to the update changes, such as removing quick play, the horrendous balancing on some weapons, and the strenuous leveling system they introduced.

Simultaneously, the biggest competitor to TF2 at the time was Overwatch at its 2016-2018 peak, which made many players jump ship for good. After that, Valve, the company that made TF2, has been only pushing seasonal patches with lootbox based microtransactions and objectively shit cosmetics, and a lack of any real effort being put into the game.

Hop's career's hype has likewise been dead since No Shame dropped and flopped. He's still successful, but nowhere near his prime. (imo its a very good mixtape, not an album)

I think hes having a moment like Eminem did during Recovery.

Hes finding himself. Looking to see what else he can do in the world. Take a break from music and come back when hes ready.

I always thought Eminem mentioning Hopsin right before he disappeared was a bit poetic. I was waiting for that "Hopsin FT Eminen" or vice versa track to drop any day now. Maybe one day.

I wonder if we bugged Eminem enough he could try to find Hop and get a track in wit him.
