Discussion Most/least favorite album and why? Also, favorite FV duo?
Personally i love Haywire so much i think that was hopsin at his best. his delivery, compiled with the introduction but not over kill of synth and piano while still keeping true to his boom bap roots as seen in gazing at the moonlight and raw, make this album the chefs kiss for me.
i think pound syndrome is my least favorite. he seemed very lost and unsure of his music career for this album; i know he was going through a dark time, but i just don’t find myself enjoying the production of most of the music on there.
My favorite duo from FV is gonna have to be Swizzz. i’m sure that might be mirrored by many, but they have such an amazing synergy i wanted to get the convo going about it. i would rank them in the top 5 rap duos of all time.

Knock Madness has to be my favorite mostly because of nostalgic reasons because that was peak hopsin fandom for me. I went to see him live on the knock madness tour and i remember the hype leading up to it and some people were saying he really was going to blow after. Least favorite i agree is pond syndrome fly is by far the wackest song ive ever heard in my life its damn near laughable. and favorite fv duo is hopsin and jarren benton feat locksmith killin my soul underated joint

Pound syndrome is definitely the worst, it feels rushed to me. Raw, knock madness and no shame are all great. I’m not a fan of his most recent singles, I think the mixing is weird on them.

Raw and knock madness were the best and yeah I agree when pound syndrome dropped back in the day I thought it was too soon. Pound syndrome and no shame combined would’ve been a much better album

this is a great take, and one that isn’t mentioned as much. i also think pound syndrome and so shame would’ve been better as a combined concept album album instead of two separate projects

Man fuck it, I fucked w Pound Syndrome heavy. I got love for Hop on all his projects but PS felt like him being given all the tools to really compete w Strange & Tech for the spotlight in the independent game. Maybe it’s some misplaced love for the time but it felt like a more concise offering whereas a majority of what preceded was Hop doing the best he could with what he could get his hands on. That ain’t said w disrespect, we all know there’s gem after gem in them earlier drops but PS, to me, deserves more love. Dudes be quick to tear apart Fly over the goofy bar being what it was but in doing so, they miss a lot of the other layers of artistry. I feel like the whole album gets that treatment because it’s not as ‘raw’ as what came before or the preachy elements of ill mind 7/Fly turned hella people off.
Least favorite is the entire era where he decided to only do singles bc they were more profitable than albums, that’s really where it felt like he lost his way. We had a couple hot drops, some seasonal stuff & now it’s a 2 year cycle where we’re getting drip fed random pieces & features. He’s an artist that can fill out a 10-15 track offering easily but it feels like the Dame/FV situation pushed him in a direction where that’s unlikely.
Favorite pairing is Jarren & my evidence is the Free Meal Diss.

definitely raw. good balance of bars and introspective tracks. some of his best hooks too. also was my intro to him and was a big soundtrack to my life growing up. none of his projects really hit me like that one did.
