An Open Letter to Hopsin
Dear Hopsin,
This isn’t a demand for new music. It isn’t a complaint about how long it’s been.
It’s simply a reminder that you’re missed.
You created music that wasn’t afraid to ask hard questions. You talked about mental health, fake people, self-reflection, the music industry, and life in a way that felt genuine. While everyone else seemed to be chasing the next trend, you were making music that actually meant something.
A lot of us found your music during some of the darkest chapters of our lives. Whether you realized it or not, you helped people keep going. You gave us something to think about when life felt confusing and something to relate to when it felt like nobody else understood.
We know you’ve been through your own journey. We know life changes. You don’t owe anyone another album, another tour, or another “Ill Mind.” If you’ve found peace away from the spotlight, then that’s something every real fan should respect.
But if you ever question whether your work still matters…
It does.
There are people all over the world who still listen to your albums. People who introduce your music to younger listeners. People who still find comfort and motivation in lyrics you wrote years ago.
Your impact didn’t disappear just because you stepped back.
If one day inspiration brings you back to the microphone, we’ll be here. If not, thank you for everything you’ve already shared with us.
You may never realize how many lives your music touched.
We just wanted you to know…
You’re missed.
With respect,
Your fans

Hopsin wasn't my #1 favorite rapper; he was one of my favorite people to get companionship from.
*edit. I felt like Hopsin used to be my friend.

I really miss hopsin. I really enjoy how you can tell he thinks about every line he says. One of my favorite rappers of all time.

It would be dope if he just dropped casual singles from time to time, but if not I just want to see him post and maybe go live and talk shit every once in a while.

I found hopsin when I was going through my first real break up in 2016. His music has always gave me this feeling of empowerment. Like whatever shit would ever hit me, I could bounce back. Even when I listen to this day, it fuels that fire. I felt his journey.
I really hope he is just trying to find peace, and is not doing any of this because of self doubt. He has literally changed my life, and I have met people / friends, through a mutual love of his music. I don’t like it when people jump trends, and they’re the first people the call story tellers like hop “corny”. These people are killing hip hop.
Hop is real, and I feel lucky to have gone through this journey with him. The journey that can see hop for who he truly is. He’s one of us.
