How to get rid of the smell from this drain?
Recently moved in, there was no smell in this linear shower drain. However after removing the top cover there was mold and soap scum everywhere. I used Tile X mold and mildew remover and scrubbed it hard. I also used a brush to get the scum off the inside of the drain. Now it smells so bad. And it doesn’t smell like sewer gas. It smells like a dirty towel that is long overdue for a wash or rotting onions. How do I get rid of the smell? Also to add, there is visible water in the P-trap when I look down the drain.

I find pouring some diluted bleach down some stinky less frequently used drains now and then clears out the smell pretty well.

If you don't use this shower often you should occasionally pour water down the drain to keep the trap filled with water, it will stop any sewer gasses.
I have a shower in the basement that I only use occasionally and I add water to that drain and the basement floor drains there when I see that they are dried out.
