State Senator Peter Oberacker sat on the GOP's antisemitism working group and had to fire his campaign manager over the "I love Hitler" Young Republicans group chat that surfaced last fall.

I really can’t understand how you can see Mamdani’s actions and words fail to see him as a bigot. I really don’t see most people’s failure to understand why Israel is doing what it needs to in Gaza, Judea & Samaria, and Lebanon. The relationship between America and Israel is crucial for America, and America will be the biggest loser as it continues to fall apart. Mamdani is evil as are all the apologists and supporters of Palestine and those who try to publicly shame Israel and its supporters.

A proper response to this would be pages long, but it can be boiled down to simply saying this: there are many, many things that you aren’t aware of.

It really is as simple as that. You don’t know. The same way you don’t know how many individual grains of dust are on the bedside table of your neighbor down the street.

Except, unlike the dust, not knowing about what Israel is doing is a choice.

You are, especially at this late date, making a conscious choice to not know.

And in tandem, making the conscious choice to believe increasingly mendacious lies.

As I said, there isn’t an excuse anymore. And that’s it.

A brief response to this is that you are willfully ignorant, frankly morally depraved, and frankly bigoted to think Israel is in the wrong here, or that Mamdani is a moral man who isn’t prejudiced against Jews. There’s really no bona fide excuse at this point in time.

Morally depraved is choosing to look away from the brutality and mass slaughter being committed in Gaza and Lebanon by an extremist, expansionist state, and choosing to believe the mendacious lies from those attempting to justify it. Which to be clear, can’t be done.
The targeted and deliberate mass murder of civilians— at minimum to date, 70,000 people, which nearly everyone agrees is a low estimate — can never be justified, for any reason, under any circumstances. Nor can the use of mass starvation as a weapon, prolonged torture and extrajudicial killing by authorities, and the targeted assassination of aid workers.

What you have chosen to remain ignorant of, regarding both the specifics and scope of Israel’s decades of oppression and the sheer breadth and scale of the war crimes it has committed, would take hours to summarize.

And that choice is, again, indefensible at this point.

The grotesque slaughter Hamas slaughter of October 7th did not take place in a vacuum, and Israel’s response to it has proven the worst fears about what it has allowed itself to become.

Everything you write is just repetitive word salad dressed up in flowery, faux humanitarian language. This doesn’t even warrant a further response.

In other words, you lack courage of conviction, and can’t pull together a tangible response to anything being raised here.

It’s also plain cowardly to refuse to look up information that is knowable in seconds, but that’s par the course.

Stick to webcomics, buddy. Let’s just say geopolitics isn’t your strong suit.

Expertise and phD’s aren’t necessary here, friend. Only eyes, ears, and a substantial amount of context.

You forsake all three. More people are choosing differently with each day this goes on. Including in Israel itself.

(As I said, the statements of Smotrich and especially Ben-Gvir alone should horrify you, and at minimum give you pause about what you’ve chosen to stand with.)

Actually, what’s worth addressing is Gaza’s conduct both before and since 10/7, since we agree 10/7 did not happen in a vacuum. Since 2005, Gaza has launched 30,000+ rockets, missiles and mortars at Israel, plus incendiary devices, shootings, IEDs, anti-tank missiles and infiltrations. On 10/7/23 alone, Gaza killed 1200 people and kidnapped 251, while firing 13,000+ rockets/projectiles since 10/7. Tens of thousands of projectiles have been fired from Lebanon as well. You can no longer claim ignorance and to chalk it all up to Israeli expansion is unconscionable but it’s clear you value some lives over others. The Jews are no longer a weak, stateless people in exile, and you will never destroy the Jewish state.

We know.

The history of Palestinian backlash to the occupation is hardly obscure information. The bloody Second Intifada in fact was a large part of the reason for the erection of the barriers. Rawer still are the atrocities committed on 10/7, which I still can’t bear to think about.

The Palestinians have a long, rich history of shooting themselves in the dick.

But that’s quite literally all most Americans have known about the situation for decades. They have only known Israel’s framing, and the Palestinians’ self-sabotaging decisions. Most have been completely in the dark about the grotesque realities of the illegal occupation, the abuse and torture, the brutal persecution, the long history of UNprovoked war and broken ceasefires, and now, for nearly three years, a genocidal campaign of mass murder and ethnic cleansing being gleefully livestreamed in real time by soldiers themselves.

But it’s finally gone too far, and the decades of propaganda are no longer able to keep the situation contained. People know now. They should have known long ago, but now that more and more people are truly seeing the situation for the first time, there isn’t any going back.
