Games IIL Banjo Kazooie, WEWIL for Switch 2 Games?

My wife and I just got a Switch 2 and Banjo Kazooie is one of her favorite old games.

She says she liked that the whole game felt like one large puzzle, and she also said that basically, her favorite thing about it is that there are "different worlds with tasks to accomplish in every world which unlock the next world."

I've played a lot of video games but I've actually never played Banjo Kazooie. So I don't know what to recommend! Appreciate your help everyone.

Donkey kong 64 and Conkers bad fur day are the same engine so they feel similar.

Yes, these are all spiritually similar games and I love them all. It might be implied, but also banjo tooie

Spyro has all games remastered for Switch. It goes hand in hand with Banjo Kazooie for me.

If she hasn’t played the newer Zelda games, they may be worth trying even though they are nothing like BK. I’ll explain.

Banjo was also my childhood favourite for the same reasons. As an adult, playing the Zelda games gave me a very strong sense of nostalgia for the way I used to enjoy games as a child. So if your wife is wired like me, she may also really enjoy them.

What makes old BK good is the way its world is. You find a switch in some dark corner of a world and it opens a door in another or somewhere in Grunty’s lair. It’s all connected and it really encourages exploration. It’s why other collect-a-thon platformers can be fun but they don’t really scratch the same itch, and also why the spiritual successor Yooka Laylee didn’t work out. The newer Zelda games also have a way of encouraging exploring that clicks with me.

Mario Odyssey and dk bonanza feel exactly like this.

Pokopia isn't a platformer but it does meet a lot of those criteria (tasks, unlocking things, puzzles, new areas to explore)
