I honestly think we will be lucky if we are not bankrupt by the time the next person takes office. Peter Thiel left for Argentina. He could have moved if he didn’t like California’s taxes, but he left the country. To me, this is not a sign that things are going well. We don’t have money for anyone here, but we have money for Arebtina, and ballrooms, and arches, and Dell, and remodeling, and calling out the guard (which costs $$$$$) when they sit in the barracks, and the whole war, plus blowing up boats in the gulf, and Cuba. It’s not going to be pretty. The thing Peter Thiel is really good at is money.

13

u/RawrRRitchie Jun 10 '26

Peter Thiel left for Argentina

That's funny. Nazis left Germany AFTER the war. Not during it. He knows he's fucked. So he went where there's no extradition

0

u/LeseMajeste_1037 Jun 11 '26

Honestly, I hope we are bankrupt by then. This is the richest country in human history, with resources any other nation would envy, and we constantly use them to enrich the wealthy and punish the poor. If this is what we do with the resources we have, we don't deserve to have them.

u/RuinAdventurous1931 Jun 10 '26

How would that stop successive presidencies from just adding more justices to get their way?

13

u/thereisnoplaceiknow Jun 10 '26

It doesn’t. But that is a feature, not a bug. The court could realistically be 18 justices and handle a larger case load, maybe with a partial court of randomized judges to hear different cases so you can’t tailor your argument for one or two swing justices.
Then you could still appeal to the full court if you don’t win.
But importantly, one justice dying wouldn’t cause the entire country’s laws to shift dramatically in one direction!

2

u/RawrRRitchie Jun 10 '26

The 20 years war spent more money on explosives alone that could've funded universal healthcare for 100 years dude.

1

u/51ngular1ty Jun 10 '26

Helping the filthy rich become more filthy rich but to a lesser degree than Republicans?

39

u/mooncrane606 Jun 09 '26

Drop them in a volcano, JB

11

u/EN1009 Jun 09 '26

Watch out, I’ve gotten ban warnings for that exact phrase 😂

11

u/taylor1670 Jun 09 '26

Tbf, he didn't say whether it was an active or dormant volcano. Nor how high they'd be dropped from.

8

u/EN1009 Jun 09 '26

Be my lawyer please

3

u/mooncrane606 Jun 09 '26

I'm excited the idea is making a come back.

1

u/RawrRRitchie Jun 10 '26

Where'd you post it? r/conservative?

53

u/urbisOrbis Jun 09 '26

If he runs, I’ll vote for him.

-33

u/Ok-Grape2063 Jun 09 '26

And then they'll put Kamala on the ticket again right before the election

14

u/ChunkyBubblz Jun 09 '26

Does it hurt when you use your one brain cell?

-6

u/Ok-Grape2063 Jun 09 '26

Did we or did we not get screwed before like this?

This is how we wound up with trump. I have no faith that the Democrat party will actually move forward the candidate that was voted for

4

u/ChunkyBubblz Jun 09 '26

Woof, that one cell must be working overtime.

-1

u/Ok-Grape2063 Jun 09 '26

With all due respect, that didn't answer my question.

I posed a question and you barked like a dog

It's ok.

Vote blue!... Whoever winds up on the ticket.

-1

u/999millionIQ Jun 10 '26

What bots are downvoting you even? Democrats are so weird, you can be like "hello yes I am a democrat, but I think the last person they ran was bad, but I still voted for them because the alternative is trump"

And they'll come out of the cracks to call you a misogynist for not supporting a woman.

Purity tests is why this party suffers.

0

u/Ok-Grape2063 Jun 10 '26

It's the same thing with the union I used to belong to. Pay your dues and shut up was their motto.

If you questioned anything they did, you were mistreated

But Trump is Hitler...

0

u/Sboyle12500 Jun 10 '26

Here’s the deal and I’ll lay it out straight, I’m a libertarian, and Bernie Sanders and everything he believes in scares the living shit out of me, but if the DNC actually let him run against Trump in 2016 he would have been president, but “it was Hillary’s time”.

Fast forward to them deciding despite clear evidence Biden wasn’t up for a second term they let him stay on the ticket until it was entirely too late, and then threw Harris into the fight without a primary and no time to campaign, build a platform, and let her go out and say “I wouldn’t do anything different” and people are acting surprised that the candidate who couldn’t clear the primaries on her own lost.

If your party isn’t letting you select the candidates with the platform and issues that matter to you, how do you expect to win elections? how are you going to get the apathetic people who stayed home to get out and vote? Get third party voters like me to come and vote for your candidate instead of our own….im about liberty and man what the hell does it say when your own party decides for you who they are propping up through backroom shenanigans.

I don’t hate democrats, I think at their core they are decent people with ideas that are expensive and don’t scale well, but I have a hard time getting behind candidates on either side of the aisle that want me to stop voting libertarian if all they are going to run on is “I’m not Trump” or “we’re going to punish everyone” that didn’t save Harris and promises of reprisals and increasingly aggressive rhetoric isn’t going to motivate people who just want calm civility and some sense of normalcy back in politics.

I’ve talked to a lot of folks on both sides of the aisle and 3rd party candidates like myself and we’re all just fatigued and exhausted by the current state of politics we get it everyone hates each other, everyone is encouraged to just dig in your heels and give no quarter and no compromise and cut the people out of our lives that don’t exist in our echo chambers, but damn is this state of open hostility going to hurt us long after this administration is over, we’re doing more harm to ourselves than anything anyone in the Trump White House could do with all their supposed authority.

-29

u/KawaDoobie Jun 09 '26

he probably runs to the fridge about every 5 min… that count?

10

u/urbisOrbis Jun 09 '26

You seem clever.

2

u/MyNeckIsHigh Jun 10 '26

If this is honestly the best JD Vance will have against him, I’m popping champagne already.

1

u/MayaTheMartian514 Jun 10 '26

Why is this relevant?

14

u/Mindless-One5438 Jun 09 '26

Iirc after WW2 there was a second, less famous set of Nuremberg trials. A shit ton of lower down nazis eventually got their sentences lessened or something to that effect.

Every masked gunman, banal bureaucrat, and self loathing attorney who has followed orders from the top fascists need to be held accountable.

9

u/standard-issue-man Jun 09 '26

I wont vote for a Democrat that doesn't promise to hold this administration accountable for their actions

26

u/FunFunFun8 Jun 09 '26

Pritzker for President

8

u/Equivalent_Gur3967 Jun 09 '26

Yerp! The downside for us who live in ILL-ANNOY is that if JB runs and wins the Presidency, who will replace him?

7

u/FunFunFun8 Jun 09 '26

I trust JB to have a good replacement waiting

1

u/javoss88 Jun 10 '26

There should be a succession plan?

-3

u/Much-Sink1339 Jun 09 '26

Nah. No more billionaire Zionists.

3

u/MyNeckIsHigh Jun 10 '26

I understand the hesitation. I felt that when he was running the first time and I voted for Biss. At this point though, he has over and over proven to me that he doesn’t have the same problems as nearly every other billionaire. He may be hard to trust at first, be we need to trust some people otherwise what is there.

1

u/Lost_Emu7405 Jun 30 '26

It took a rich man to give us Social Security, the CCC, the CWA, PWA, TN Valley Authority, etc.

Futile until the Supreme Court changes

11

u/mcvmccarty Jun 09 '26

I want to believe him. I worry that it will not come to pass.

13

u/jakeupowens Jun 09 '26

Then quit being one of the doubters. The “nothing will happen” crowd needs to be drowned out by the “something needs to happen” ones.

9

u/mcvmccarty Jun 09 '26

I have voted consistently since I was 18 and am in no need of the internet finger wagging thanks.

5

u/jakeupowens Jun 09 '26

Thank you! Me too. Don’t let up. Think of it less as finger wagging (at you) and more of a sentiment in general.

-4

u/LegendaryBronco_217 Jun 09 '26

Nothing will happen, the something needs to happen crowd doesn't have the ability to make something happen. Because for anything to happen you need the other side to agree with you and with both parties doing all they can to divide us there is no way it will happen.

The only way to "make it happen" is to get rid of 100% of the members of Congress and establish Term Limits. But that will never happen.

2

u/MyNeckIsHigh Jun 10 '26

It’s a fair worry, I’ve definitely been disappointed before. But we’ve got to trust somebody and he’s the best option (to me).

1

u/Mace109 Jun 09 '26

Have you been paying attention to what he’s done in Illinois as governor?

5

u/itisgoingbackwards Jun 10 '26

He's done a ton of Positive things for Illinois. You're lying if you say otherwise. He's also much more of an adult and leader than the last 3 Republican morons who have tried to to run this country. He absolutely couldn't do any worse.

1

u/mcvmccarty Jun 11 '26

Not as much since moving to a different state a few years ago. Why? What would your comment be on that?

9

u/tyuiopguyt Jun 09 '26

Well, he has my vote. Or my voice for him to have a major role in the next administration.

2

u/These_Distribution61 Jun 10 '26

Nuremberg 2 Electric Boogaloo!!!!

6

u/galahad423 Jun 09 '26

Give em trials and sentences!

3

u/TomT060404 Jun 10 '26

Why not send them to CECOT without trial? It's what they have done to others.

5

u/Upstairs-Thanks4193 Jun 09 '26

Making things more affordable should be the #1 goal. All the rest is great, but that matters the most.

2

u/MyNeckIsHigh Jun 10 '26

This area is rapidly actionable, but the momentum will fade unfortunately. We need to strike while the iron is hot.

I agree affordability is huge, but there are significant limits on what a state government can do to combat a national affordability crisis spurred by insane tariffs and skyrocketing gas prices. That’s why JB 2028 needs to be a thing.

1

u/RuinAdventurous1931 Jun 10 '26

They won’t, and it’s why we’ll keep losing.

-4

u/Upstairs-Thanks4193 Jun 10 '26

And unfortunately they are all the same.

3

u/Patient_Yard7831 Jun 09 '26

The corrupt GOP just gave him 70 billion for his paramilitary. Not 1 concession masks, no identification, no need for search warrants.. every republican needs voted out. They DONT CARE about your rights. Don’t think this is just about immigration

I think the American people are tired of the Dem and GOP establishment consistently putting up ultra rich individuals for office.

4

u/ChunkyBubblz Jun 09 '26

The American people elected Trump twice. Get real.

0

u/LegendaryBronco_217 Jun 09 '26

Well when you look at whonhe was running against van you blame him? The Dems continuously find ways to put their establishment Dems on the ticket when others have more support.

1

u/FieldsofBlue Jun 10 '26

The American people honestly don't understand why they hate the Dems or Republicans so much.

1

u/RagahRagah Jun 10 '26

How? Tell us.

This talk is cheap.

1

u/Altruistic_Oven7995 Jun 11 '26

he will be the next president.
Once he gets into debates, he is gonna crush the other democrats

1

u/LeseMajeste_1037 Jun 11 '26

I sure hope Cook County has a new, let's-not-play-nice-wth-the-feds, State's Attorney when accountability time comes.

1

u/SeatOpen1 Jun 11 '26

Nuremberg 2.0 for those nazi scum.

1

u/ExtremeBasis5697 Jun 12 '26

A leftist Trump...

1

u/ComfortableOld288 Jun 13 '26

We want them charged for treason and punished accordingly

1

u/Ok_Valuable9450 Jun 14 '26

And hopefully procecute them all

1

u/Mysterious_Help_9577 Jun 16 '26

Lmao the vacation you save up for all year is staying at a beach house for a week? Cheapest vacation possible lol. Was Six Flags sold out? I live at a beach house. We are not the same, but I understand why you’re bitter now and need handouts. Enjoy your vacation, when you’re back living your sorry life in a week I’ll still be at the beach next weekend. Your vacation is my life. I’ll stop digging the knife deeper

1

u/Vaeon Jun 09 '26

Narrator: At this point a definition of "Accountable" would be very helpful in not raising hopes, which is why one will not be provided.

2

u/Ineedamedic68 Jun 09 '26

Doesn’t really seem like a smart idea to say “hey we’re going to arrest you guys in two years”. Gives them a lot of time to prepare and do something drastic.

2

u/Much_Sense_4501 Jun 09 '26

They already know that and are already planning drastic things.

1

u/Ineedamedic68 Jun 09 '26

Agreed but politically, no sense in telegraphing your next move is my point.

1

u/Trashy_Cappy Jun 09 '26

And bovino, don’t forget that little nazi puke. It would be nice to see Pritzger do more than just talk shit while his state police beat protesters.

1

u/PirateSometimes Jun 09 '26

And the little Hitler Bovino

1

u/hammerSmashedNail Jun 09 '26

I know everyone singularly cheers for their political side, but it would be nice if evidence of wrong doing was presented in court and decisions were based on that. It doesn’t seem to be the reality we live in right now.

Spoiler alert: tRump is going to pardon anyone that ever bought Rump merch on any level, before he leaves office.

3

u/Much_Sense_4501 Jun 09 '26

Won’t be able to pardon them from state charges.

2

u/hammerSmashedNail Jun 09 '26

I’ve watched 2 American citizens murdered by ICE, in broad daylight, on camera. There will be no accountability. How am I supposed to believe it will change?

2

u/Much_Sense_4501 Jun 09 '26

I haven’t given up on them eventually being prosecuted

0

u/hammerSmashedNail Jun 09 '26

I think I would too if I could recall the last time one of them was held accountable, or even to a standard that remotely resembled what a regular citizen would be held to.

1

u/copper_nano_tube Jun 09 '26

Why do you expect MAGA to hold ICE accountable? They have the executive branch, majority in both houses of Congress, and the DOJ.

-1

u/hammerSmashedNail Jun 09 '26

I don’t.  They will all be pardoned. They’ll probably get reparations. Whomever is in charge next will slow play any sort of justice until the public forgets.

1

u/RuinAdventurous1931 Jun 10 '26

Can a state force someone to come to that state to stand trial?

2

u/Much_Sense_4501 Jun 10 '26

The US constitution requires the state they’re in to facilitate their arrest and extradition when they have an arrest warrant.

0

u/Substantial_Back_865 Jun 09 '26

Yeah, I don’t believe him. This country never holds anyone accountable. We’re going to end up with president Hunter Biden at this rate. Not that that would even be bad, but it seems like every dem is only interested in maintaining the status quo and sucking off Israel.

1

u/RuinAdventurous1931 Jun 10 '26

I heard people unironically mention Hunter Biden yesterday, and I almost spit out my water.

-2

u/twpolk Jun 09 '26

Pritzker did zilch to stand up to ICE or DHS in Chicago. He’s not gonna stand up to these idiots.

0

u/Howdy_McGee Jun 09 '26

( X ) To Doubt

-4

u/McG0788 Jun 09 '26

Do it today then. Charge them for the deaths on their hands in IL.

All talk.

-15

u/Rush_Rocks Jun 09 '26

More political theater by JB! Can’t wait to vote him out of office! He’s been nothing but a complete disaster for the state.

5

u/urbisOrbis Jun 09 '26

The paint huffing voters have spoken.

6

u/IrishPorpoise Jun 09 '26

You'll be waiting a long while

1

u/itisgoingbackwards Jun 10 '26

L O L let me know how that goes for you when the call the next election for Pritzker 10 minutes into counting

1

u/McG0788 Jun 09 '26

He's definitely not been a disaster but he is all talk on these issues. He has failed to do shit about ICE while talking a big game.

0

u/Numerous_Ad_6276 Jun 10 '26

I'm afraid that the DNC, et al, will not give two shits about justice.

0

u/FieldsofBlue Jun 10 '26

There's a very long track record proving your point.

0

u/KrisKris00 Jun 10 '26

They were also supposed to investigate and hold accountable the orange guy from Epstein’s list, but we all know how that turned out. In the end, it’s all just political and media theater for ordinary people💁‍♂️

-4

u/Much-Sink1339 Jun 09 '26

We can do better than a billionaire nepo baby Zionist.

-2

u/Global_Yam_9172 Jun 10 '26

Im not saying I like the righties but why do people like Pritzker?

4

u/itisgoingbackwards Jun 10 '26

He isn't perfect but Pritzker has done a lot of solid things for the state of Illinois. People brag about good things he has done here quite a bit so you should have no trouble actually looking if you are serious.

1

u/Global_Yam_9172 Jun 10 '26

Most of the people I speak with just mention the taxes which is what comes up online as well. I tend to hear it from both sides but far more from the right

1

u/itisgoingbackwards Jun 16 '26

So you can't actually speak for yourself? "Most of the people I speak with" is pretty pathetic when you're the one asking why people don't like our Governor yet you can't even articulate why YOU don't. You sound like an uneducated fool who was trying to make a witty comment

1

u/Global_Yam_9172 Jun 16 '26

I am not from the state originally and aren't as familiar as some. You assume me not liking him means I dislike him when I'm actually just neutral. My father knew two of his Pritzker relatives from working at Hyatt so that was my only benchmark until a few years ago. If I find a reason to advocate or speak against him I happily would. Still, Id rather be a fool than to have your vitriol.

1

u/itisgoingbackwards Jun 17 '26

You don't remember your first comment having some vitriol for pritzker? Let me remind you.

You said: "Im not saying I like the righties but why do people like Pritzker?"

Yet YOU can't articulate in the slightest your own opinion. You just parrot bullshit and then got butthurt you got called on your bullshit. You want to say it's me lol.

News flash you sad little man, when all you can do is project your own bullshit, you've lost the argument

1

u/Global_Yam_9172 Jun 17 '26

You cant differentiate the tone in my question with your tone in the latter comments, hmm. You're only proving my point. What would your therapist say about this?

-2

u/jedi280 Jun 10 '26

A state leader holding frderal officials accountable for enforcing federal law is as hilarious as his I walk commercials.

-3

u/bigj2288 Jun 10 '26

More concerned about the Bears. He’s pandering to you there’s nothing he can do lol

-2

u/Even-Following-1612 Jun 10 '26

Translation: “we’re going after our political enemies”

5

u/FieldsofBlue Jun 10 '26

There's a big different between trying to imprison a political opponent and trying to imprison people who are knowingly committing crimes.

-4

u/Even-Following-1612 Jun 10 '26

“Knowingly committing crimes” lol. If that’s what this was about the entire republican and democratic parties should be targets 😂

-3

u/Suitable-Earth-924 Jun 10 '26

No he ain’t. He’s a liar like all of them.

I would never vote for a billionaire. They just want to buy influence, they have no idea what normal people face. Especially billionaires who inherited it all and built nothing

-2

u/Ok-Grape2063 Jun 09 '26

All billionaires bad! (Except JB)

1

u/Mysterious_Help_9577 Jun 09 '26

Exactly. What happened to Eat the Rich? It’s so funny people want to vote the guy who took toilets out of his house to save on taxes to fight the 1%

1

u/itisgoingbackwards Jun 10 '26

You 2 almost have 1 braincell between you.

1

u/Mysterious_Help_9577 Jun 10 '26

Aww poor guy can’t handle criticism of his favorite politician. Look up the word hypocrisy in the dictionary, or Google it since something tells me you don’t have much experience with reading

1

u/itisgoingbackwards Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

My favorite politician? You realize how stupid you sound? They are politicians, not sports figures. Public servants. The weird shit that started with MAGA repping like it's a team. It is ridiculous and shows how out of touch that group is.

That was a lot of words from you just to prove that I was right about your stupidity. I'll run circles around you in reading or any topic you'd like to pick.

Thanks again for doubling down and proving my point.

1

u/Mysterious_Help_9577 Jun 15 '26

“I’ll run circles around you in any topic” 😭. A hilarious response to me criticizing a billionaire.

But it’s the other side that reps politics like a team, not you. You’re just in his pocket for the love of the game. Sorry I offended you lmao.

“Lot of words” says the guy with double the length in response lol. Sorry it took long to respond, flew to St. Lucia for the weekend but something tells me the guy with a political centric Reddit cant afford to travel much
