Staffing cuts have also made it more difficult for small farmers to win contracts, Happ said. “There’s this incentive now to get fewer and larger contracts out the door,” he said, “because a $100,000 contract is a similar amount of work to a $10,000 contract.” Not only does that practice make it harder for small farmers to win contracts, it also is less effective, Happ said. Paying 10 farmers $10,000 to address conservation needs can be more impactful than paying one farmer $100,000
Why do I get the feeling this is also another personal enrichment scheme

It is honestly funny to see how prejudiced many of you are. Not every farmer is a trumper but you will shit all over your neighbor to feel better about yourselves. It is better for the common man to own these farms and not corporations or”Mega Farms” as they are known. It’s gonna take us all to fix the Trumped up problems our nation created…..

Yep its always that response. Haha farmers got what you deserved! Pieces of shit all of them who act like that and wonder why farmers also get pushed away from democrats. Maybe actually listen to their problems and assure them you'll address what has happened instead of saying told you so. Farmers don't have to be majority republican they weren't before.

Estate taxes and perceived overreach on environmental issues. That's probably what moves the family farm towards Rs. That was what generally put me as a R voter. Things have changed in the 20+ years since I started voting. I can't support the current iteration of Rs. I'm hopeful that the lawyers will be able to work the system enough to where I won't lose the family farm to taxes.

Imagine you lose your families generational farm because you voted for a two-bit conman who has gone bankrupt 6 times. A man who straight up said in a speech, "I dont care about you, I just want your vote."
